great food excellent service

Tasty fried chicken that is not greasy and amazing Brussel sprouts.

This was my first time to Austin TX, which means this was my first time gracing this awesome establishment. The service was amazing. However, the food, the food was delectable! I had the biscuit & gravy with a side of sausage, scrambled cheese eggs and a whole lot of TLC. I highly recommend Hideaway for your next meal. When I return, this will definitely be a place I come back to.

This was a great find! The Hideaway is a hole in the wall style from the appearance of its location, but don't be fooled. The atmosphere was welcoming and refreshing. The staff was kind and smiling. The food, oh the food! From the presentation to the flavors, WOW! A definite must try when in Austin!

I had the Strawberries and Cream Waffle. The food was alright, and a bit too much for 1 person. There wasn't anything memorable about this place other than the fact that this restaurant was filmed in the Netflix show "Ultimatum". The food took forever to come out.The potatoes were bland, and floors were so disgusting. The floors felt like was stepping on bubble gum everywhere I walked. This place was just "OK".

Pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious. Staff was super friendly, and it was easy to develop a rapport with them.

We have been here a few times. Today one of the employees named Anthony outside his authority, discriminated against all types of working dogs. After wr had ordered, and seated. He attempted to tell us where to sit or leave although his coworkers didn't agree. Civil Rights Act 1964 Title 2 and 7 clearly protect these rights of customers. When a establishment is open to the public. They refused to have call the cops to validate his personal position. We only had a 45min window to eat and decided to leave. The initial employee we met that took our order was very polite, and apologized for his coworker violating protected rights. If anyone else has been effected by this type of behavior please contact us to join the legal action taking place.

This was our first time here and it won't be our last. We ate here for Sunday brunch and had a great meal. The restaurant doesn't take reservation, but it is counter service. When we arrived, there were only a few people in line. We did have to wait a couple of minutes for a table to be available (it's a seat yourself place), but that was partly because it was too cold for outdoor seating. The atmosphere was cool and casual, and even had live music (electric violin). I had the honey butter chicken biscuits which were huge and delicious. My husband had biscuits and gravy which he loved. There were many other items that we would like to try on future visits.

This was an unexpected find next to the Ramada Inn off of I 35. There are several hotels in this area that could utilize this restaurant. Spacious area for eating, outdoor seating, and a nice bar area. The staff is pleasant and breakfast was good.

Came for Saturday brunch yesterday with friends. We ended up deciding to order to go, as there weren't many seats available. While waiting on our food, I saw some mimosa flights coming from the bar. I didn't see a drink menu when I initially put in my order. The food was good, the reduction in rating is based on the overall vibe and the passive aggressive bartender. While we were waiting I asked the bartender what kinds of mimosas they had in the flight, to which she responds, whichever you want. I tell her I didn't see a menu (she may or may not have known that I'd already put in an order -- if there were drinks on the menu, or a separate menu, I didn't see it). She tells me the menu is at the front, to which I tell her I didn't see a drink menu, and just wanted to know what the options were. She continued to tell me to order at the front. Keep in mind, she wasn't actively doing anything that would stop her from just throwing out 2 or 3 flavors so I could get an idea. What I felt like was a simple question, went unanswered for what reason? The micro-aggressive nature of it all made me absolutely uncomfortable and I felt like my business wasn't valued. I'd give another half star, but there was no apparent reason for me to get treated like that, especially in comparison to the great service I received from the staff member at the front that took our order. I'm tired of feeling like this when I dine out around Austin. The food was great. We got the Big Bird Biscuit, Chicken and Waffles, and another dish, I forgot. Only thing missing was my side order of sausage. But based on how big the biscuit was, I really didn't need it. Huge portions for the price. The place was generally inoffensive but I was expecting something a little different for the mood that day. It was almost like a cafeteria. I'd give dining in another try and just not order drinks from that bartender that didn't even care enough to not look like she just rolled out of the bed, but I'd definitely order to go.
