Staff is excellent. Customer Service is great. Too expensive for a room without a TV, a closet, no complementary breakfast (it is included on the advertising) and no parking lot. Besides that, During the night after 12:00 AM the door was opened twice by different people. My family and I could not sleep well the rest of the night. I talked to Jessica-Manager and she told me that she was going to talk to me about the inconvenience but I haven't heard from them in 4 days. I will ask at least the 50% of what I paid.

An amazing hostel with amazing vibes. People staying here are very respectful, silence hours are respected, you're right in the middle of downtown with many places to visit, just great :D

Very cool hidden speakeasy with an amazing history. Fun bar for a good drink.

All the staff were especially kind, had dozens of recommendations about how to enjoy Austin, and were willing to go the extra mile to help (big shout out to Howie here)! Place was clean and right in the middle of downtown Austin, perfect for a weekend out on the town.

Staff was always there to answer questions, the ladies were awesome. Good security and room temperature. Showers were clean. Nice setup with the lounge. P Terry now open around the corner, order the double ! They could check the 2nd floor fridge more for outdated food.

One of the few speak easies in Austin. The Firehouse Lounge is hidden behind a bookshelf. The drinks and cocktail menu is good and solid. Recently had the chance to be there when a great salsa band played. Super nice atmosphere!

I've been staying in hostels, all over the world, for the past 25 years, and I would definitely rank the Firehouse Hostel at the top of the list of hostels I've stayed in. The Firehouse Hostel is in a prime location, easily accessible by foot when Downtown. It's clean, the staff is super cool, the place is safe and well managed, and the over all look of the entire-interior is very appealing.

Firehouse Lounge has an interesting story. Inside an international hostel, both the speakeasy and hostel are built inside the oldest still-standing fire house in Austin, Texas. Built in 1885, it's a historic building. When you walk inside, go through a bookcase to get to the spacious speakeasy with a bar, tables and couches.Due to space on a Saturday evening, we sat at the bar and ordered cocktails and Austin Eastcider. Our drinks were average. They were playing loud music, proving I am solidly in my 30s and wanting a quieter space. The nearby Driskell Bar provided that space.

Behind the bookshelf door lies a cozy lounge with fantastic craft cocktails. Can’t go wrong with the Old Fashioned!

Speakeasy vibe & sold out comedy show! Takes a little searching on EventBrite to find show tickets, but I think so many people have had amazing experiences with the comedy shows now - that it’s a constantly sold out venue for special events.Give it a try!
