Good experience for whom loves hotpot
Not your mom’s ice cream. The flavors are so fun and truly unique!! The texture of the ice cream is unreal. At the risk of sounding dumb, the ice cream had a “stretchy” quality unlike anything I’ve experienced. One small feedback: the cone didn’t do it for me. The aesthetic peanut butter coating was thick and also my cone wasn’t sealed correctly. So ice cream was dripping out of the side. I had a great time so I’m not taking off a star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Despite it’s weird to see gua bao in a hot pot and has to made it through the meat from hot pod, the experience at this location is good. From the perspective of a Asian ppl, this is a little bit of everything from our culture.small crispy servings with wooden plate, hot pot, sashimi, and gua bao.Overall, this is a place I would come back again.
Came here with my husband and friend for the deluxe Omakase..there were some high highs and low lows. To start, I loved the oyster and fish pieces. But, I was kinda taken aback that for 3 people's worth of Omakase, my husband was forced to share one serving of veggies with my friend. It was awkward. This happened for the lettuce/squash small serving box and the mushroom box (see photos). I asked our server for another mushroom box because my friend loves mushrooms and the server said it was not a problem. I had NO IDEA that we would be charged $8 for literally 8 tiny mushroom pieces! The group was not pleased when we saw the receipt. This was not made clear to us and multiple times I found it super frugal that two grown adults had to "share" 8 pieces of veggies.... The meat was good, we loved the A5 wagyu the most. It melted in your mouth and was buttery smooth. We were not a fan of all the carbs and me being Chinese-American, the white Bao (bun) they presented us had no meat pairing and just a jalapeno-relish jam. I was taken aback because usually this type of bun is meant for Peking duck. I kept wondering if they were going to bring us carvings of Peking duck for it...they did not. For $125+ per person, I expected more meat and veggies than the "filler" carbs and rice they gave us. But also, my husband and I were born and raised in NYC and we've had gourmet hotpot/shabu before so perhaps we're slightly biased. We would come back but only for a la carte - omakase was not worth the price point in our opinion.
Great food, great atmosphere, great drinks, but could use some logistical love. This is a very interesting take on shabu shabu, where each person gets their own small hotpot with broth of choice, a small pot of queso, rice, and 2 dipping sauces that pair well with different things (my favorite was the citrus ponzu). That queso goes with everything. If you get an omakase, do not eat the rice! It's very filling. While waiting to be seated for our reservation, we enjoyed drinks in the front bar area. There are some very unique flavor combinations here I enjoyed, like the Nikko with citrus and sunflower seed. The ingredients were high-quality and the drinks were far above average. I had the premium (Baller) omakase, and enjoyed sampling the variety of different meats, veggies, and mushrooms. You have to pay attention to the temperature of your hotpot, lest you overcook. Some of my favorites were the truffle sukiyaki dip, pork meatballs, and the A5 wagyu. Try the wagyu uncooked first, and only cook the rest for 10 seconds. Most everything was a hit in my book.I accept the traditional Japanese intimate seating with strangers to your left and right at a ramen joint, but it felt a bit out of place in the context of nabe where the expectation is more of a cozy and intimate setting at your own table with your own party. That said, I get it--it's an experience. However, when you add the chaos of frequent visits from your server walking through detailed explanations and upsell carts with optional add-ons rolling back and forth behind you and bussers clearing dishes that pile up, that intimate space gets downright claustrophobic. Also makes it difficult to carry on a conversation.Service was excellent, and everyone we talked to was knowledgeable, kind, and down-to-earth. Dillon did an exceptional job walking us through everything, which was appreciated as the omakase experience--while fun--can be overwhelming. The building itself is beautiful inside and out, and the lighting is low and unobtrusive, so the ambiance is on point.I'll return on a quieter day to revisit some of my specific favorites and have a slower, more relaxed go at it. All in all, it was a great date night, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants something a little different.
Overpriced and felt super uncomfortable sitting in a narrow and super cramped space while eating hotpot. I could literally hear what the other guests were talking about the whole time! The meat portion was super small and selection was limited. We had high expectations and reserved birthday dinner there, but end up waiting for 1 hour (after being seated) before we could get our food - which is basically raw meat that didn’t require any chef to cook!!Will not return.
I love their ice cream flavors. I had lime in da coconut. Unique and delicious!!!
Beautiful experience. Intimate setting, felt like I was in an intricately crafted bento box. Personalized birthday, simple but thoughtful. Great service by our server Chelsea B and other staff. Looking forward to returning with out of town family and friends.
This was by far the best dining experience I have ever had in my life! Before we even stepped through the front doors, DQ was already making us feel like we were family. Our dinner was for my birthday, and waiting at our table was not only a card for me, but it was signed by the waitstaff as well! Chelsea was our server tonight, although it felt more like a guide through the literal adventure that is dining here. The customer service here is seriously service unlike any other restaurant I have ever experienced.Thank you to DQ and Chelsea for such a wonderful experience! I wasn't very excited about my birthday this year, and the kindness and camaraderie we felt changed that for me. I could not have imagined a better experience, and I am so incredibly grateful. There are genuinely no words that adequately portray how we felt leaving dinner. It's a wholesome feeling that I didn't know a dinner could even create!100 out of 10, I HIGHLY recommend for everyone to visit here at LEAST once! I look forward to the next time we get to go!
D3 gave us one of the greatest dining experiences we’ve ever had when we went out for my husbands birthday. Everyone was knowledgeable and friendly. GREAT vegan options, great atmosphere, great service, all around phenomenal night! Thank you!
