The 'deckhand' style oysters were great, nice size. Love their salt and pepper calamari but we got with shrimp this time which was great, love this dish, they're breading is always flavorful and light. The addition of onion, jalapeno and cilantro with the slaw is super tasty! Kids shrimp and Fry basket was plenty and reasonably priced. The mussels dish with rice had a ton of flavor, kind of like a kicked up super spicy ramen broth. My only complaint was the service, our waitress was incredibly slow and took forever to bring the things that we asked for and did not check on us unfortunately but I've been a fan of deckhand so far and am super pleased they have the new location right near the old!
Average spot for southern style seafood- boiled crayfish, fried catfish, and oysters. Plenty of selections for fried or broiled fish, po boys, and soups or gumbo. Popular with the locals. The crayfish is seasoned well. The fried catfish plate with fries and hush puppies was average. The Longhorn stuffed catfish was disappointing, 2 thin filets of catfish with a lot of Pico and a little hint of crab (?). Nothing special here, maybe the bar experience is a bit better.
The oysters are as big as my fist! So meaty and juicy and refreshing for summer with some cool beer to pair. Great for afternoon lunch when it's not too crowded! I hear this place is packed for dinner. The crawfish is so fresh! Scrumptious and the perfect mild-spicy consistency. The gumbo was good too. We didn't try the Thai food but I think this place is astounding for the boil and seafood here. I keep thinking about those oysters! Go before season ends.
First time to the new location and it was all still great. Much larger, still plenty of tvs to watch the game or whatever.Prices are still very reasonable and tastes just as good as before. Service still friendly as always. Last but not least, it's been a long time, but I had a slice of their Royal Thai Cake. One of my all-time favs...fans... Laotian food and prices.
Awesome seafood and some great Tai food too. The raw oyster and grilled oysters are as fresh as just sitting gulf side. They are short handed on wait staff (as are all restaurants) but if your not expecting "fast food order to eat time" its the place to go and enjoy.Lots of good beers on tap.
Seafood and Cajun with a Thai twist... Amazing! Freshest oysters, delicious Cajun food, outstanding staff and two locations! If you are lucky enough to find a seat at the bar, TAKE IT. Their bar staff is hilarious! It's always a good time at Deckhands!
The fried calamari and Diablos! I miss the old place. Had more character and fun feel.
Great food and much better service than many of the places around here.Papaya Salad is super spicy. Tried the 10/20 and it was way too hot?try 5-7 if you really like spice. The oysters are great! I'm glad they opened the new location. The old building was too small for how popular this place is.
Deliciously fresh seafood is what we found here!We tried the Red Snapper, Crab Legs, and Raw Oysters this visit. Everything was fresh and scrumptious. The red snapper was buttery smooth. The crab legs sweet and delicate and the oysters just amazing. Customer service was great and the prices decent for what you are getting. If you have not been here before, you should definitely give it a try.
Food was good. Oysters were awesome. Waiter was also awesome
