Best value Thai food in Austin, in my opinion. The portions are amazing and the food is flavored extremely well. They have all the classic Thai dishes: we got the Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, and Pad See Ew, as well as the Crab Ran Goons. Everything is delicious, and more so each dish has a distinct taste from one another, so it doesn’t all taste the same. It’s a very busy food truck, but they still manage to get their food out fast! Great service and I highly recommend for authentic, reasonably priced Thai cuisine.
Coat & Thai is my favorite Thai food in Austin. Service is great, food is excellent, serving portions are generous and it’s priced fairly.Highly recommend!I took one star off because when I put an order by phone I always say no plastic utensils and they keep forgetting that, they should be more conscientious about our environment.

We’re addicted and order here at least once a week. Tuesday is the saddest day when we crave it and they’re closed!We order Pad Thai, Tofu with no egg, Pad See-ew with tofu an egg & Basil Fried Rice.The owners are so sweet too and they’ll even start knowing your name!
Great service, I ordered the Thai fried rice with shrimp and chicken, highest heat level offered, it was greeeat! I wish it would’ve been just a little bit spicier but the flavor and serving portions for the price was very well worth it. Also they had topo Chico! Which is sometimes hard to find at a food truck or even a restaurant. Service was quick, cashier was courteous, this was my first visit, definitely won’t be my last. See you guys again when I’m back in town
Just had Coat & Thai for the first time. Wow, the pineapple fried rice with chicken is next level! Great job guys. Not much of a wait, food was excellent.
I got pad kee mow with tofu and veggies. The tofu was very airy, wasn’t my favorite but the veggies were good. My friends got Thai basil fried rice and crab rangoons. The crab rangoons could have been filled more but had great flavor! The fried rice was great with a good mix of veggies! The owners are so nice! Psa be aware of the birds
Possibly the best Thai yellow curry I’ve ever had. The chicken Pad Thai was also excellent. The iced coffee was delicious and had just the right balance of milk to coffee and ice. My only warning is that the temperature at which the food is served is HOT. I burned my fingers trying to open the lid of the curry container and the liquid inside was scalding. Highly recommended for authentic Thai food at good prices.
Not sure why I didn’t write one of these reviews way sooner. I have been coming to coat and Thai for years! Wife and I have had Thai food all over AUSTIN and we have never found anything that comes close to coat and Thai! Absolutely outstanding authentic Thai food. We honestly have had almost everything on the menu and nothing has ever come short of perfection.Not only is the food the best ever but the family who run the truck are such wonderful hearted people that genuinely care about their customers. They truly treat you like family from your first encounter to every single time after that. All of our friends and family who we have recommended try coat and Thai out have not stop coming because literally the food is that great. Really hot and fresh Thai food is the only way to be served and that is what you will get every single time your food is served. So thank you Coat and Thai for the wonderful years of your service to our community we are truly grateful for such outstanding Thai food in AUSTIN.
Coat & Thai is the place to go near Barton Springs. The hard working owners and staff provide authenic Thai home cooking in a romantic Food Truck setting. Great food, great price, great location!
