TL;DR Great coffee, great service, great PARKING, good views….five star morning.First timer, so the barista was informative (they make all of their pastries in house, aside from the doughnuts and bagels!). Got a Chai Latte and a chia pudding - both were delicious. This chai latte is actually one of the best I’ve had in a hot minute!A little busy as I breezed through, but they have great parking space behind the building, along with some street spaces. The indoor seating is relaxed and has a nice “vibe” to it. I sat outside, where there are four 2-top tables and two long wooden tables with benches (and nice ones too! Not your typical picnic table). In the morning, this building provides good shade to the patio, so I can still enjoy this hot coffee in the summertime! There are also lots of trees nearby…so, if you’re as weird as I am, it’s a good place to watch some birds and get a good view of the sky.
Clean and organized place with a kind staff. The syrups were all homemade and the staff was super knowledgable about drinks. I got the avocado toast and oh my gosh it was good. Hearty creamy avocado slathered onto crisp sourdough with the perfect balance of salty bacon and crunchy pumpkin seeds. It seems small at first but it really fills you up. It was $10 and the matcha latte I ended up getting cost 4.5. Overall average price for a nice coffee shop and delicious food.
I love this place but sometimes the wifi is an absolute mess. I love the food and coffee here, could go so far as to say it is one of my favorite places if not my favorite to get coffee & a healthy breakfast and sit and do work. However, today and a few times in the past, their wifi doesn't load half the websites I need to access. Including anything to do with my school. I have a very hard time focusing at home and now I spent $20+ on my latte and breakfast (just 2 items total) and can't even get anything accomplished. I am so frustrated, if I am paying these prices I should be able to access the web normally.
If you love quality coffee, go to Civil Goat Coffee, a coffee shop north of UT's campus. I went on a Saturday morning and the wait wasn't too long to order. The friendly barista took my order for a vanilla latte and it was ready within three minutes. The space itself is very bright and inviting. There's window seating and a back room with more tables.
Good coffee and baked goods. I suppose it is to be expected being so close to campus that the atmosphere inside is more computer lab than a cozy spot to sip your sips. I usually am seated outside and the times when I do drive there am able to find a parking spot.
Today, I went to get some tea. I don't recall having had Ginger Roobois until today, so I was surprised by the taste. I thought it tasted soapy.Frank was understanding and taught me about the flavor profile and offered to resteep the tea for me, just in case. And then, for good measure, he suggested a black tea or chamomile because of the distinct taste of Ginger Roobois.I went with the black tea and enjoyed it much. Shout out to Frank for helping me make my tea experience an enjoyable one where I felt cared for!
One of the best coffee house breakfast sandwiches!
Thank you for being the only place open during the ice storm!! It felt cozy & warm and gave me a feeling of normalcy during this crazy time.
Good expresso! I also enjoyed the açaí bowl. Definitely a place a love to visit frequently for some good coffee!
The coffee is solid and I really dig their chia pudding, but maybe I'm not cool or young enough to go here because everyone working is really dismissive and kind of standoffish. Really good cold brew though.
