This dinner was a special occasion and the staff made us feel special. The service was above and beyond and we would go back just because of that. The food was very good but a few of the dishes didnât fully meet expectationsâ¦but they did remedy that very quickly. Highly recommend and we will return
Fantastic food: strong but well balanced flavors, especially the more traditional Guyanese dishes. Drinks were perfectly crafted. The decor was beautiful. Definitely an energetic ambience but the whole experience was wonderful. Canât wait to return!

The service was excellent as well as the ambience. The food was okay but I would say it was too expensive for what you receive as far as variety goes. A plate of chicken (no sides) was $32. I think that the people that work there are very nice but the food is too expensive for me. If you have the money to spend and really care more about great service and ambience go here!
Came with a +1 Saturday evening right before it got busy. Luis was great and the ambiance was great. As a Haitian-American from South Florida, eating this type of food in central Texas was an awesome experience.
Hands down top 3 restaurants in austin. Food: phenomenal, service: phenomenal, ambiance: phenomenal. Every dish we had was magnificent. The dishes were unique and full of flavor, the Roti was flakey and buttery, went well with the wagyu beef. The crudo was to die for. The plating was beautiful, I almost did not want to eat it! Counting down the days until we can go back and try the rest of the menu. Highly recommend the avocado, wagyu curry, roti and the pork.
Canje is such a fabulous addition to the Austin food scene! The menu format is best for family-style sharing so keep that in mind as you order. Everything we enjoyed was phenomenal! And don't skip cocktails or dessert: each of these are a true treat! Just one note: it is LOUD inside when the dining room is full. If you're sound-sensitive, I'd recommend booking the patio (which is lovely, as well).
Amazing, as always. One of Austin's newest gems. So wonderful to have a Black owned space that offers a beautiful experience from start to finish! And the food taste and display is just truly art.
