Soooo Texas! So fun!!! I went for the 2 stepping lesson and some dancing. The bartenders are all so sweet! The class was fun and the dancing was even better. Dont miss a visit here if you’re in Austin!

Must visit! Lessons are a must ! So much fun and you may just get to dance with a pro! Love the staff and the live music.

Unfortunately, as a local, I cannot recommend this place. My girlfriend and I got there at 7:30 and paid $20 each for the dance lesson ($10 for the lesson and $10 for the band cover). The dance lesson didn’t start until 8:30 (30minites late). The entire hour she just yelled to a band member, herself and her brother in law (guy working the register). It was super uncomfortable. When we finally started the lesson, we two stepped to one song. All the instructor/owner did the entire time was roast the people trying to get a dance lesson…well…only the women. About their clothes, how happy they were, their age, etc. it was incredibly uncomfortable. She proceeded to talk poorly about Queer Eye and the members of it. The finale of her roasting act was to make fun of people from out of town. Everyone looked so uncomfortable and no one knew what to say so we all just awkwardly laughed. Instead of dancing, we all just stood there hoping we were not the next topic of her bitterness and anger. Unfortunately I think this place has lost its once beloved charm. It’s honestly a shame because the band was great!

Get a realy sense of a proper Honky-tonk, the staff are friendly and the food was great. Go for the fried chicken the best I have tasted. Brilliant atmosphere. The only grumble was the toilets they badly need refurbishing.

Amazing and authentic Texas line dance bar. Super friendly staff and tasty beef on the menu. I went alone and immediately became friends with two Austin guys. The music is a little too polished for me but lucky me - they play both: Country & western music.

I saw online that it was an interesting place to visit while in Austin that had a live band so went on a Saturday night. After standing in a long line only to find out at the end that you just seat yourself, we ordered two chicken fried steak dinners that came with a salad and choice of potato. The chicken fried steak and gravy was good and big, sweet potato fries decent, salads just iceberg with tomato and baked potato old with burned bacon. Don't know how two $13 plates with 4 waters even with $1 extra charge for sweet potato fries came up to $38 after tax and before tip. Husband was too tired after a long day at work and standing in line again for long time to pay to question. They don't give you the bill at the table. I didn't find out final price charged until ride home. Meal not worth what we were charged. Online said that it was a family restaurant but would not bring kids. Tables were close together, eating area small and underwelming and there was a line through the middle to pay and get in the back dance hall which made the area smaller. Live band was in corner area towards the front. They were good. Could not see the dance hall from restaurant area. There was a $15 cash charge per person to dance in the hall. They had a interesting museum area of photos of the various singers and other celebrities that had come there over the years by register once line cleared out getting in dance hall. Seemed most people came to dance. Wouldn't eat there again.

We had such a great time here. I saw it in a travel show and it didn’t disappoint. The band played a great mix of music. The drinks were long to wait for but it didn’t matter with all the great people watching. We watched the dance lesson but didn’t participate.

Historic Texas music honky-tonk. Food was really good, service very poor. It takes longer to pay the check than to eat the food. The band and dance room has seen better days. Poor acoustics and a narrow dance floor. Oh well, it is what it is. Added later - we had a really fun time here, and the crowd appeared to enjoy themselves too.

If you want to meet the lady from the tv show and see her riff about her life for an hour and be absolutely hostile to the women in the crowd, (and only the women!) go ahead and pay for the dance lesson, but don’t expect to actually dance. If you love country music and you want to have fun, go check out the museum room and wait until 9 when the band comes on. I assume the band does eventually come on but we left so honestly they may still be there waiting to play.
