We were celebrating a night out before a broadway show downtown ATX. We have tried other Steakhouses and wanted to try this one we pass all the time on the way to work. We booked it on a whim same day for a 6 pm reservation on a Saturday, we actually finished up our errands early and they sat us earlier. The restaurant, staff (Host and server) were so pleasent. It really came down to the food.. Lobster bisque was the best one I have had so far. But my husband and I ordered two totally different things to try. Him- Kansas city strip steak, with fried potatoes, and I got the Jumbo Shrimp Scampi. Both came out looking and mine smelled amazing, however the steak was horrible we even had it cooked to Medium. The quality, the flavor, the cut was terrible for a steakhouse. We have had better quality and tasting steak at a chain like Texas Roadhouse with no upgrades and even Applebees. The Steak smelled like dog food, it was rough to cut with the 10 pound steak knife they give you, chewing each piece literally look 5 mins, and it tasted like a pot roast. It was not good at all. We didn't complain my husband doesn't like confrontation, the fried potatoes were good, the dish came with a carrot stick they size of a mini baseball bat that didn't eat well. My pasta dish looked stunning online so thats what lead me to order it, it came looking and smelling fresh - it overall wasn't bad but at best like a Cheesecake factory quality dish, I also didn't finish it. Overall, we paid and left but I wouldn't spend the money to come here and eat a main dish ever again and go somewhere where the flavor is better for $40+ a plate. Only good things were the soup and table bread.
Food and service was terrific. My wife had the special, blackened redfish, which was awesome.
The fried calamari is outstanding. And of course the steak and fish were superb. Kyle, our server, was excellent and attentive.
Every thing we ordered was flawless. I don't know how they do it. Server was good but seemed to forget some requests.
Consistently, one of the best steak houses in Austin. Excellent service and food.
Everything was so good. We left stuffed and happy.
Fantastic food and great service. Everything from the appetizers to the salad to the steaks to the dessert was amazing. Wish weâd tried this place sooner.
Honestly I don't see the hype that everyone has about this place. I've had better steak at a chain steak house. The appetizer was the best part of the meal. If you're downtown Austin the better choice would be Trulucks.
Everything was great! Salmon, mashed potatoes, cocktail, service!
We decided to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary at Bob's and I alerted the restaurant about having wedding cake martinis for us on arrival. They nailed it. Rose pedals on the table and amazing service made tonight a memorable night!
