Awesome acai bowls.
I am updating my review to simply say, Blenders and Bowls on Lamar is lackluster. The store is maintained mainly by a crew made up college students, almost if not all female. Their workspace is either cramped or sparse and the food suffers because of it. My online orders were consistently prepared incorrectly no matter how many times I order the same menu item. A request for "No honey please" equaled a "drizzle that honey nonstop on that fruit mountain top" outcome. I have an allergy to honey. Also no granola even after you pay for extra granola. A YES means NO and NO means YES employee policy to keep their customers so CONFUSED that they have to comeback to find answers for their previous visit. (The review prior to this one was long. I was wordy so I decided to say less and hope its enough to convey my experience). The manager did email after I posted my initial review but I am the type of customer that once a place mishandles my trust, I can never go back. How can I trust an establishment where I paid for a service that I did not receive.
I don’t usually complain especially if it’s a small issue but I called in after a smoothie bowl I paid for was assembled incorrectly for a patient that’s allergic to honey and likes extra granola. In the past when we haves paid for the extra granola, it’s not guaranteed to be with our order so I just started asking for extra granola when we kept paying regardless. The also staff kept adding honey to the order even when the receipt stated NO. The smoothie that day tasted like swap water. I was offered a refund by someone who said she was a manager or shift lead. But today 8/21/2021, upon arriving I was told by someone else that the employee who offered the refund didn’t have authority to grant me a refund. I’d still like my money back for that specific order. I don’t usually have an issue with the North Lamar location but I understand that I am at fault for letting their mistakes go unchecked. I did none of us a favor. I figured since I didn’t complain when they made mistakes, fewer might be made and I could of avoided writing a review. I’m disappointed.
All vegan, fresh and tasty, however, based on what you get prices are a bit high.
Expensive but good/fresh ingredients in all the forms you want to be healthy
Best açaí bowl I’ve had in Austin! Finally found a good spot, plus added vegan protein. This is amazing ?
I got the sesher bowl at N Lamar and it was not that cold and slimy. Not much flavor in the base either. Disappointed because it’s expensive
The bowls are delicious. Haven't had the blenders as of yet. They are a bit on the pricey side.
The bowls are on point. The peanut butter is delicious. Staff is nice
Pros: everything is freshly made and tons of choices. Oatmeal is fresh.Cons: because everything is fresh it takes a long time to get what you ordered if you didn’t order ahead. Every time I go the staff is simultaneously blending/pouring/shaking/mixing like crazy! Super busy on the weekends, so always order ahead. Ordering online is great you can sub/add and have so many choices.Another downside is consistency- I can tell when items have been added to bulk up the pitaya base (it’s a rose pink rather than fuschia color).Another downside- the avocado toast is literally a slice of toasted bread. It’s not a thick bread with a thick layer of toppings, so stick with the bowls.
