The man behind the counter is a genius. This hole in the wall is simply delicious. The bagels are how bagels should be made. I am a big fan of the pastrami, egg and cheese on an everything bagel. Consistently made and the portions are filling.
Although this place reminds me of home being so close to NYC, I refuse to go back for a few reasons. Everytime I leave that place I feel icky. The owner is such a bully and I have gone to this establishment a few times where he constantly yells and undermines his cashier. The last time we went a few months again, he even had the audacity to yell at my BF for asking if there was ketchup?! How do you not have ketchup at a breakfast place, and how do yell at a customer for asking?? To me this is not worth it, I don't want that type of grotesque negativity and harsh behavior! I have boycott this place and hopefully the owner sees that your energy does affect your customers, and that type of behavior is unacceptable!!
Mike is an artist with his culinary gift. Every sandwich made with love and attentiveness. Never skimps on portions or compromises quality of ingredients to save a buck! You wouldn’t tell Picasso which paint brush to paint with would you? If you want to taste love in a sandwich, come see us at Big City ?
I got yelled at by the owner for asking for a side of Turkey for my 2yr old. Then was told by a patron to ‘go to Starbucks’ where they would be more accommodating. Then he told me to go back to California. To which I replied that I’m from New York. PS, the bagels are garbage. I would know. Good luck guys. Hope all the new people moving to the area don’t put you out of business :)
Had a Pastrami, Egg & Cheese everything bagel, and my wife got a bagel with lox and cream cheese. Absolutely amazing!! Definitely worth driving across town to try it out!!They recommend calling ahead or ordering online since they get a lot of to-go orders. We didn't have to wait long despite not doing this, but we'll know for next time! They've got a few outdoor tables for seating, and one table inside.
After reading through the reviews, I was expecting great food but poor service. But the service was super friendly and quick. I'm guessing the speed just depends on the number of orders. And the sandwich . . . . one of the best I've had in years. 25 years ago, working in California, I found a great local deli and ate there several days a week. Ever since, I've been looking for that sandwich, just to be disappointed over and over again. I think I just found the sandwich I've been missing.
This place is excellent. I get a pretty plain sub but the ingredients are all delicious and seem high quality, they're big and well priced for what you get, and they usually have bagels that are great to pick up and eat for the next few mornings for breakfast. Really enjoy this place.
Exactly what you want from a local bagel shop. Delicious, flavorful and reasonably priced. The bagel was the exact right amount of dense and chewy and the eggs were delicious. The pastrami sandwich had a great crunchy rye bread with a flavorful, perfectly cooked pastrami. To help the staff out, order ahead of time with a call.
Awesome NY style Deli with bagels and subs. The pastrami egg and cheese is awesome on a bagel. They also have flavored cream cheeses and make subs after 10am. Highly recommended, but call ahead to place orders for faster service.
We’re the only customers in the store. It was clear they had online orders but we stood there for 5 minutes and watched what appeared to be the owner yell at his staff and completely ignore us. He then barked out of nowhere that it would be 35 mins to get a bagel. Never acknowledged or asked us what we wanted to order or tried to ring up the drinks. Worst customer experience, so we left. Sans drinks or bagels.
