Oscar’s Favorite with eggs on corn tortillas and spicy verde salsa. I used to come here three or four times a week when I lived not to far away. It’s still worth the drive from Cedar Park and I’m going to commit to make it down here a couple of times a month. Great diner owned and operated by a hard working couple and staffed with a wonderful team.
The wait to sit was short. (Would’ve probably been even shorter if they looked at their wait list since the host sat the party behind us before us) We had to wait quite a while to order though. It took them 3 times to get all of our drinks. They not once asked if we were ready to order in those times. They had very odd options in my opinion. The pancake plates come with a choice of meat and that’s it. For $9-11 dollars. So if you want eggs and or hash browns you have to pay extra. My spouse did not like the French toast. I liked my banana nut pancakes and ham and egg. It was good. Orange juice is supposedly a large but it looks like a small kids size. For $3+. Overall, food was decent but not worth enduring the bad service and overpriced options.
Really happy we picked this Diner. Service was great and food was amazing! Thanks to the wonderful waitresses who made us so comfortable and welcomed!
Amazing breakfast. Never disappoints. Their French toast is some of the best in the city. Chicken enchiladas are so so good. Staff is friendly and efficient.
Just found another favorite place to eat in Austin. The Austin Diner at 5220 Burnet Rd is awesome! Great food! Great diner decor! Great diner atmosphere! Great diner era music! We'll be back!
Lots of breakfast choices and they’ll substitute (I don’t eat meat). Rarely is there a wait and service is prompt and attentive.Milkshakes are expensive, but are the real thing: definitely worth the price.Tip big, they work hard and fast.
no judgements, friendly staff great food, coop place to sit for a few cups of coffee, very attentive and food was great!
This morning, I was craving a traditional breakfast as was my date. So, after a little bit of looking online, we decided to give Austin Diner a shot. In short, I'm glad we did.We both enjoyed our pancakes -- hers were chocolate chip and mine were strawberry. The bacon is some of the best around as it's clearly been cooked on a flat top to a perfect level of crispiness. The quality of the bacon is also stellar as it's almost all meat with very little fat. The side of home fries that I ordered were excellent as they were crispy and well seasoned.Overall, our meal was excellent. The only flubs came with our service. Namely, our drinks went pretty much empty and we had to get our server's attention about that. I think a lot of their breakfast rush would be under better control if diners weren't waiting for things that the server should address. Another example of this for us was that the container with butter and jelly at our table was empty, requiring our server to make a trip for that.Regardless, this is definitely a great breakfast option. Come earlier in the day to avoid the rush.
Very friendly staff, checked up on me many times and always came with a smile. Definitely the type of people to remember your name and ask if you want "the usual." Despite the diner being full when I came, service was still fast, and I got my food without much wait. I came in, ate and left within about an hour or so.Food is reasonably priced- I ended up paying 20$ for a full plate omlette and french toast. The eggs are made well, and the options are excellent. I took the Mexican style omlette, and it was a good selection of mix-ins and sides.
The breakfast tacos I got were delicious! But they didn't have any dairy free options for their coffee and my husband's bench seat at the booth was so broken that it would rock back and forth when he moved. Could use some updates...
