I sometimes pop in and enjoy a small bowl cup of vanilla with kitkats and oreo cookies mashed up in the vanilla. It's good. It is true you can buy more ice cream for cheaper in a store, but the convenience of it being right there when you want it is priceless. Often when your out and about shopping and your craving something sweet it is a good way to go. You just had a meal, but have not yet had dessert, and Amy's ice cream is in the same area can be a perfect ending to a meal.
We were in the area after hiking at McKinney State Falls Park and decided to drop in to grab some ice cream. There were a variety of choices to pick from, and the staff member that assisted us was very kind — she recommended some flavors and provided free ice cream for our dogs.Although the customer service was great, the prices weren't justified, or at least that's how I felt — it was a bit pricey for what you get. We've only tried two flavors, but it didn't leave a great impression on us.Also, unsure if related or not but I just wanted to put this out there in case someone runs into the same problem — the credit card I used here was used elsewhere, not by me, though. The card I used — I didn't use it anywhere else but here; it hasn't been touched for over a year.Anyways, I'm unsure if I'd come back. The ice cream/shake didn't particularly stand out.
THE best ice cream. I come here once a month and look forward to it a lot. Wide variety of flavors as well
Simon was the best! His friendly attitude made for a good atmosphere. Thank you, Simon!
Glad to see politics so involved with ice cream… 2 years later and strict mask policies… I like my Ice cream without communism involved. Sad.
Not so great.... Flies all over your food. Dirty tables. Went because of a five star review. I'll give it 2. That's being generous.
I always get Phil's sliders! I can choose which ones to get and with the mix of sweet potato and regular fries they are great! Bad thing is having Amy's right there, makes it hard to walk out without stopping at their counter
The kids that work here make this place so fun to return to. Perfect late night snack
Great treat place attached to Phil's place of burgers. Teens enjoyed ice cream after walk in Zilker and Barton Springs area.
This location is attached to a Phil's Icehouse which should be renamed "Fly's Icehouse". There were no less than 100 flies in the restaurant. It was hard to eat with all of them boxing around. We are outside and the problem was still abundant with the flies. Also the tables outside don't appear to be cleaned very well. There was moldy food, dirt and dust trapped under the grate of the table and many of the benches we're loose from missing bolts. I even saw a huge fingernail trapped under the grate of my seat. The kids playground had a broken and neglected Cornhole set that looked dangerous. I will say the staff was friendly and the food was fine. Overall it was a gross experience.
