Such a great overall experience!
Excellent food from Ethiopia. Not having had any Ethiopian food before the lesson the lady showed on eating was awesome. The “bread” was basically your fork. She explained the bread and a bit about the other dishes on the table. We had several original dishes as well as some traditional Texas staples. The integration of some of the spices on the rib tips was truly a world class flavor. Several of the vegetables dishes were spicy for my mild palette but awesome when eaten with the other dishes. Thank you for such an awesome meal.
My boyfriend and I visited this place for the 1st time this past weekend since we were craving a good baked potato and saw other reviews, so we decided to try it out. This place was definitely good. The staff was very friendly and sweet. We also tried a few desserts that they served and they were really good! We will be back for another visit.
Wow - this food is amazing! We had the Tex-Ethiopian platter and the fusion really brings out the best in the food. The savory and spicy Ethiopian sauces/rubs add a phenomenal and unique flavor to the meat. The ribs in particular were fantastic. This is a family owned restaurant and the service was friendly and genuine. Although we live about an hour away - we will definitely come back again.
Smoke'N Ash BBQ is godsent. The food is is too good. Who ever is in the kitchen cooking this food is going to heaven. You have to try this place if you're in the area. Ethiopian Texas fusion is the best idea ever and goes so well. The meats are so tender and perfectly seasoned. I was really excited to try the injera and wot and was not disappointed. The owners of this restaurant are so friendly and happy to share their culture and food.
We got the Tex-Ethiopian Platter for 2 and it had everything you needed to get a taste of Smoke n’ Ash’s beautifully crafted food. Portions were very generous, we could barely finish it all. The brisket and pork ribs were our favorite meats— they were incredibly tender and flavorful. Everything on our plate was delicious.
“Delicious” doesn’t do this place justice. A lovely concept and execution, absolutely worth the 45 minute drive from Dallas. As a Texas native I thought I knew good barbecue but this has completely changed the game. The platter for 3 is a perfect mix of classic Texas BBQ and Ethiopian cuisine. Do yourself a favor and go here immediately (and bring me back a plate!)
If I had more than five stars to give, I would. This place was unbelievable. The BBQ meat and sauces went perfectly with the Ethiopian dishes, and the injera was the perfect thing to eat with everything and soak up the juices and sauce. Plus a nice pot of ginger tea so you can sit, digest, and talk about what a great idea it was to bring these two cuisines together. The people there were very nice and the price was very good for the amount and quality of food. Thank you guys so much. I hope this place has a lot of success.
customer service was great, food affordable & different. Ethiopian spices mixed with Texas BBQ was something I never imagined but I enjoyed it
I really loved the food. Had ribs and brisket, Mac n cheese and greens. So far this is the best place that I have eaten at hands down!
