We had experienced Ricky's before, from Richardson, and if anything, the local Arlington instance is superior, based on my recent encounter, to the spiritual, transcendence into a new level of heat (pain) appreciation. We ordered various spice levels, all delivered with zealous precision, a sandwich (The Sando), Tenders, Fireballs, Xtra fries, elote (cream corn) and Nuggets. I repeated the torturous experience that is the nugget flight and loved/hated it all over again! My bride insists the Banana pudding is the best had in 25+ years, so if you're slightly (or incredibly) bothered by spice, there's other greatness to be had from this marvelous restaurant.
Would definitely recommend!!! Great service and the staff was amazing. Helped walk us through the menu and tell us everything azimg about each food choice! We settled on Medium spice tenders with fries and The Sando Mild with a mix of Medium and Mac and cheese with amazing banana pudding for dessert!
Really disappointed as someone who goes out of the way to go to the original I was so excited when I heard one was near me.Went during lunch at 1220 get the food and wow night and day difference to the original the fries were ice cold and some were so burnt that they were crispy rocks. Idk what happened it was both mine and my fiances dishes.On to the chicken it was warm not cold not hot guess it stayed on the heat lamps a while reminded me of chicken express when you get one that's sat for a while. The flavor was like the original the freshness was not at all.The only thing that was great was the mac n cheeseI'll be sticking to the original and look forward to it as a treat.
Absolutely amazing chicken. I got The Sando with medium heat and it was perfect. The right amount of heat to where you can enjoy it without suffering. The fries are really good too with a nice crisp. The comeback sauce reminds me a little of Chick-fil-A sauce but with their own twist on it. Their strawberry lemonade is great and taste fresh. Will 100% come here again.Recently tried the dish called the Bird's Nest...my new favorite meal. Everything comes together so well! They definitely make it worth your money seeing as I'm always full after it! They put a lot of their sauce on it and it only amplifies the flavor. Can't recommend this dish and place enough
Cool location, I love their art around the restaurant. The place was pretty clean and their food is really good. I recommend their chicken sandwich with fries or Mac n cheese. Their strawberry lemonade is also really good.
Ricky's Hot Chicken is a bit addicting. It's delicious, tasteful, and definitely spicy. I would have given it a 5-star if I had received more coleslaw on my sandwich because I barely had any on it.I went on a very packed night. The line was long, and the tables were full. I ordered The Sando, Chicken & Waffles, and Bird's Nest with the flavors Hot, XHot, and A-Bomb.I want to start off by saying that everything was delicious. The Sando could have been perfect if there were more coleslaw--I didn't receive the same amount as shown in images from Instagram's influencers or on Yelp. The Chicken & Waffle was good--the chicken was plentiful, but the waffles were a bit on the softer side, which isn't what I'm used to. The Bird's Nest was definitely the best out of the three. As for as heat levels go, A-Bomb was intolerable, and I absolutely love spice; it's an addicting taste, though. XHot was pretty good, and Hot was decent.I would return to try Medium, Mild, and No Heat, just to get a taste of the chicken without the overwhelming spiciness.
New location in Arlington stopped by to see what the hype was about. And I’ll have to say the hype is real. Picked up The Sando (chicken Sandwich) with the medium heat. The cashier said it was spicy but I will have to return to let him know he was wrong. I will try the extra hot next time. Anywho chicken was flavorful, crinkle fries a great complement. The coleslaw in the sandwich gave it an additional boost in flava. I’ll be returning soon..
If you’re wondering if you should go here, go ahead and stop your search for food and head to this place immediately! I always have an amazing experience here! Anticipated their opening in Arlington for months and when I finally went it did not disappoint. Some of the best hot chicken in DFW.
I really loved this place, the food was really good and worth the price. The jumbo tenders and fries lived up to their expectation, and the sauces too. One thing that I didn’t realize until I left is I did not get my other side of mac and cheese that I ordered, it was too late to mention it to the staff. But other than that, amazing place, friendly staff, atmosphere was great. Would definitely come here again!
Went in and immediately ordered food to go. Within 5 minutes, it was ready! A-Bomb level was no joke. Son had to drink milk because it was the hottest he's ever had!
