Had read earlier reviews and decided that as an out-of-towner, this was as good a choice as any for authentic food. Ate at the bar. Got there around 4:30 PM after an afternoon Rangers game and we were just about the only ones there. When we left around 7 (I said we were at the bar!!), people were waiting both inside and out. Half-price "Papa's" margaritas that night. Fajitas for one that were incredibly fresh and could have fed two. Friendly service. The great reviews are on point. This place is a gem, despite it's surroundings (a closed, fenced in restaurant across the street, a dumpy used car lot at the entrance to the road in). Don't let the surroundings fool you!
i made a reservation and called ahead and still was told i had to wait about 45 min. i was told by the hostess that reservations do not really matter
Food good but menu is limited. A lot of the dishes had chili on them. I had the shrimp fajitas; they were very tasty but could have used a couple more shrimp and a few less veggies. Had asked for no bell peppers but they came on it anyway. Their Margaritas are great. Have been numerous times. Always solid! Pay attention driving if you haven't been before. big I-30 360 interchange construction.
Everything was great! House margarita flavorful and well-priced. Food was plentiful and flavorful and reasonably priced. Server was attentive and made sure food and drinks were produced in a timely matter. The only sour note in our visit was the poor attitude of one of the greeters/hostesses. Not sure why she felt it necessary to tell us that reservations arenât accepted since there was ample seating available and we had written confirmation of our reservation. When my husband pointed out that our reservation had been accepted by Open Table, her response was sarcastic and somewhat rude. Not necessary and certainly not appreciated. So I do recommend this restaurant but be aware that perhaps âreservations are not accepted.â
We really, really liked this place. Large tasty portions with beautiful presentation. Cozy dining room. With all the road construction nearby, it can be a challenge to get to it; but well worth it.
Loved it. Great food and drinks.
My Mango Margarita was very well made and actually had a Mango slice in it. Also, my shrimp fajitas came out sizziling. The shrimp was grilled and the re-fried beans and rice was good and I normally don't eat the beans and rice.
Clean, colorful restaurant. Nothing not to like. The food was as expected. I enjoyed both of the salsas served with the chips. And, I liked that one salsa is served warm. But, having said that, the food was about the same as most Mexican restaurants visited. My favorite part of the experience was actually the decor. They had very cool mult-colored moravian stars as lighting. We were there on a Thursday evening. It wasn't a very busy night there. The service was adequate, not particularly attentive. I recommend this restaurant based mostly on being conveniently located by our hotel.
Very nice clean restaurant with some of the best fajitas I've had in the twin cities area. The steak was fall apart tender, and very flavorful. The chicken was just as good and tasted great. The shrimp though... it is hard to find a place that doesn't overcook shrimp, and this place does it perfect. All in all 5 stars my wife already told me we will be returning.
Tasty authentic Mexican! I found them on the internet and I got curious to try their offerings. The chip and dip was good (mild and hot), and enchiladas with a couple coronas. The only downside is getting they because there is a lot of road construction around the theme park area where the restaurant is located. If you don’t mind the extra traffic, it’s a good place to dining- good food, good atmosphere with ample parking.
