I was unable to sample everything but what I did try, all of it was good. Plenty of food to eat and some to take home.*Tender, smoked, hickory taste flavor of pork ribs without the BBQ sauce. Not dry or tough, proportionate amount of meat and each bite chewable to the end. (Some people like a lot of fat on their ribs but I prefer more meat and less fat)*Turkey was moist and you can taste the smoked flavor.*For the Bacon lovers—plenty of bacon on the Twinkies—large sized jalapeños*Tator Tot casserole good.*Unique spin on the cornbread?Opens at 11am, highly suggest early arrival. I arrived approximately 10:15 and people were already lined up.
Terrible service! Called for takeout order and was put on hold and hung up on. Tried calling back and they would not answer and then began to pick up the phone and hang it up! Customer service says ALOT about the quality! Will NEVER eat here again.

Place is clean, staff was great. But the food was spectacular. We ordered the El Jefe, more than enough for two…with a to-go box for two for later. We got A LOT of food. Best burnt ends I’ve ever had. Sausage was on point too! This is hands down the best BBQ in this area and a really great value. Got to try the Texas Twinkie, you won’t regret it.
Delicious meat, unfortunately I can’t eat any of the sides because every single one of the options has some kind of dairy in it. Even the green beans are cooked in butter and the beans which I was told I could eat ended up coming served with a sprinkle of cheese. Husband said beans were a bit lacklustre but Mac and cheese was excellent. The pork ribs were surprisingly delicious and didn’t need any additional sauce or seasoning. The brisket was moist and was cooked to a fall apart texture, it was slightly under seasoned so really benefited from a bit of sauce. The sauce is more tangy and smoky than sweet and took the brisket to the next level. Unfortunately couldn’t eat the sausage because it’s full of cheese. Portions are generous and I split the Texas Trinity with my husband. Sides are affordable at $3 for a small side.
We researched BBQ places in the area while we were visiting from out of state (June 2022). We decided on Hurtado BBQ but we were hesitant that there could be a long wait. We decided to order a big family type meal ahead of time - that way we could carry-out and take it back to our VRBO if it was crowded. We went on a Monday at lunchtime and were happy that there wasn't a long line so we decided to eat our carry-out meal there - we found a table in the outside area between Hurtado's and Hayter's Bar. When we opened up the big aluminum container we were like, "WOW"! Everything looked so delicious - and it tasted even better than it looked! The employees were super nice about us eating our carry-out order there - everyone was very friendly. We had so many good meats to sample - brisket, burnt ends (my favorite), sausage, and pulled pork. The sides were so good too! We enjoyed potato salad, green beans, macaroni and cheese (so rich and creamy), and Mexican street corn. There were also pickles, pickled onions, and tortillas on the side as well. We also added on the Texas Twinkies - jalepenos filled with brisket, wrapped with bacon, and smoked. They were very good but pretty spicy (of course). The atmosphere was nice and family friendly. There were picnic tables and bags for people to play. I would give Hurtado's a 10 out of 10 it was so good! The bar next door, Hayter's, looked really nice too. I snapped a few pictures inside the bar - I am not sure if they are affiliated with Hurtado BBQ or not but they do seem to share a middle ground area in-between the two establishments.
Loved the Holy Trinity! The Elote was pretty good. The best was the ribs and brisket. Plenty of covered seating outside. Pro-tip: bring an umbrella if going in the summer. There is NO shade for anyone outside waiting in line.
This was mine and my husband first visit here. We will definitely be going back. Everything we had was delicious. The prices are also good and you get so much for your money. This is the first place I’ve found brisket cut just like I like it. Great job cooks ! The lady that took our order was very inviting as well! Thanks guys!?
This place is absolutely amazing, we were only in town for a long weekend, so I ordered our food before hand. I ordered the dinner for 4 with an extra rack of ribs, and Texas twinkies. Every thing was so good. The portions are huge, I have a family of 6 and we had food for two days. I just wonder how will I be able to eat BBQ ever again, there is no place like this in Denver, or if there is I haven't found it.
The brisket was very tender with a nice bark on the outside and the taste was great ?
