This place is very slow. They have very bad service. My uncle was trying to ask for more butter on his meal, but the chef ignored him and continue to cook the rest of the meals. My uncle yelled and raised his voice multiple times. The drinks took forever to come out, we ordered the drinks when we got there, they did not get to our table until when almost our food was finished. This is very unacceptable, I do not recommend this place, it’s is very slow and has very bad service.
Quality has gone downhill at Hibachi 97. My family and I used to come every Christmas Eve as a tradition. We returned this past Christmas (2021) while I was in town. The four of us were seated quickly, but the waitress was slow getting our drink orders out. There were only 2 full tables seated, including us, while we were there. The chef was lackluster and didn't do the onion volcano that used to be standard. Soup and salad tasted fine, hibachi vegetables were ok. My shrimp and steak hibachi were not as good as previous years. I don't know what changed, but seems the restaurant has cut back on a lot. We specifically came for the entertainment while our food cooks, but may look elsewhere for our hibachi tradition.
We called days ahead and made a reservation for over 20 people. When we showed up, they were shocked to see us all come in and very unprepared. They had one, JUST ONE chef there. We filled 3 grills. They had 3 employees to start and called in another guy when we were close to finished…at our table. The rest of our group was just ordering. The food was small portions and not a lot of flavor. Chef didn’t get order right from waitress and seemed irritated when we tried to tell him what all it was supposed to be. The veggies are a joke…we will NEVER dine here again.
We have been going here since I was 7 years old I am currently 22. If you ever get the pleasure of Gonzalo as your cook you will not be disappointed. We love Hibachi 97!

Disappointed doesn't even begin to cover it. Wouldn't recommend. We had 6. The hibachi grill seats 8. They sat 3 people at the hibachi table before seating us even tho we were there first.... And put a seat between us. So my husband and my son had to sit BEHIND the guy cooking... almost to the adjoining hibachi area. It was just a bad experience all together. The food was horrid. The chicken was definitely over cooked. The vegetables were just gross. Won't ever come back. Worst experience ever with hibachi. And more than overpriced. 30 dollars for fried rice. What a let down.

Good food, not too expensive for hibachi. They need to fix the ventilation and turn the air condition cooler. It was very smokey and warm and it normally isn't like that. Also, saw our server way too scarcely for a bill over a hundred for two.
