Well here is my review of the Popeyes Chicken that’s in the TA truck stop in Amarillo Texas, i driver through Amarillo a lot at a truck driver I just haven’t stop at the TA in a while, so I decided to today 5/12/2022 it was a little after lunch I chose Popeyes and I tried the chicken nuggets, they wasn’t what I expected, with the batter and all, I though it be close to the tenders but I was wrong, but that wasn’t the worst part, it appears to have been cook in the same grease as the shrimp, had a slight seafoody taste, and the batter held a lot of that grease, So there really wasn’t much flavor of the chicken, I ended up feeling a like sick for about a hour or so, it could have been the grease I usually have a pretty good iron stomach but that hit me quick but the fries were good and the Sweet tea like usual will send you into a diabetic coma might as well be syrup but mixed about 1/3 sweet and the rest unsweetened it’s ok, the employees were great repeated my order to confirm and told me it be like a minute in my fries but faster than most Popeyes I’ve come too, I usually like going to Chester’s Chicken but I had a Popeyes craven should of just did the chicken tenders but oh well so 3 star for the quality of the chicken it had to of been cooked in the seafood fryer and it tasted old as well maybe a mistake or employee’s don’t know not to cook chicken the the same grease as seafood, and changing the greaseSo this isn’t a review to complain but to voice a concern hope nobody felt I’ll like I did today hopefully better my next visit
The food was good, and the drive-thru attendant was friendly. My only disappointment was how slow the service was. On the other hand, the food was prepared fresh, so the trade-off was tolerable overall.VERDICT: WELL RECOMMENDED, BUT YOU MAY NEED TO ALLOW EXTRA TIME.
The food was good. Their Mardi Gras Mustard is a MUST for those who like spicy foods and/or horseradish.
So…. For 20 dollars, I basically got 5 little funky “chicken strips” and 2 small sides, a biscuit and that’s a platter? It’s bad enough that truck stops rip off truckers but this was bad. Barely 3-4 oz of meat in the entire 5 strips. Do not spend your money here
Say the chicken here is fresh and hot probably the freshest food i had since i been in Amarillo Tx stand up
Went to the store a little before closing and asked if they still had tenders and the cashier said they did. Trusting them like a fool, it wasn't until I got down the road and opened the box to find anything but tenders.Won't be trusting these guys again.
Ordered an 11 piece, got 6 wings 1 breast, two little bitty thighs, and little bitty legs. However, the manager made it right! I am thankful there is still good character out there.
Horrible place due to people and speed of the food
Menu said $12.79 for 3 piece platter. Rings it up $13.59. The pieces were so tiny. Like unusually tiny. The leg consisted of 2 bites. Very unsatisfied and do not recommend this place at all. The kid at the register never smiled and looked like he hated his job. Didn't greet us nothing.
Chicken sandwich was cold, chicken looked grey and gross. Threw away sandwich after first bite, didn’t want to risk food poisoning. Go somewhere else, don’t waste money here
