I tried alligator for the first time!- Blackened alligator tacos with cajun fries. I loved it! Our waitress was the sweetest person. The atmosphere was fun but a little too loud for my liking which was the only reason I gave it 4 stars. Would definitely eat again if I ever make it back.
Really good food. Really good prices. I have been here several years times and had a different meal every time and love everything I’ve had!
Great experience. Wait staff friendly and courteous, super ambience for family eat outs, rich meal menu and to top it off, Micky the owner personally checks on customers to make sure they’re having a great meal, a rare feat.PS: Meal was so good I forgot to get the before photos…my apologies. Highly recommended.
The food was top notch. Friendly, hometown vibe. We tried the blackened scallops app, mombo combo and lazy Suzan. Everything was flavorful and delicious. The waffle dessert was to die for. Definitely worth the stop in Amarillo, we’ll be back.
We were not disappointed. We had the Lazy Susan dish & wow it was bursting with flavor. Our waitress was super!! The service was fast! The owner checked with each table to make sure everyone was pleased. This is a must stop when in Amarillo!!
Ohmigosh!! SO GREAT! Morgann our server was friendly and very helpful in understanding our options regarding the sides and her recommendations were just right for us. We had the Mud Cat, fried catfish over rice covered with seafood ettouffe, shrimp, crayfish and scallops with fried okra. Also had the fried alligator with steamed broccoli. So GOOD!! Too much for two people but we're traveling thru and can't deal with leftovers so we hurt ourselves all we could. I HIGHLY recommend the Lazy Gator to anyone that loves seafood and Cajun cuisine. We'll definitely be back the next time we are thru Amarillo.
The Lazy Gator is my absolute favorite spot in Amarillo. The Hot Mess appetizer and the Black Cat Bayou are my favorite app and entree in the city. It's high quality food and service and my wife and I can't get enough!!
Alligator Gumbo and Swamp Fries…very delicious left with a full belly and some leftovers…very nice portions…The Swamp Fries pictured here is a half order…my brother got full order (he says they taste different and better) it was more then double the half order…
Not busy in between peak meal hour. Menu easy to read prices are in medium ranges as other restaurants for Amarillo. Staff was friendly and outgoing with customers. Food was prepared and brought out in good time hot and prepared as requested.
The burger was a notch above what you’d get at Five Guys or Round Robin, although my lettuce was a bit yellow. The cheesy fries were also good, and the cookie ice cream dessert was big, decadent and delicious (but I ran out of ice cream about 2/3 of the way through the huge cookie). Would definitely eat here again.
