This place used to be a favorite, but since inflation happened, restaurants, including this one, are being deceitful in the quality of food they serve to save money. People need to open their eyes. I ordered a vegetable quesadilla, but what I got was a spinach quesadilla. It had hardly any cheese, two tiny bell peppers and a couple of onions. Yes, I looked! Shameful! If prices went up, the quality of food should not decrease. Yet, this is how restaurants, and other are ripping people off. Charging high prices for low quality food. I for one, won't be coming back and neither are friends and family. Deceitful practices are unethical. If one is going to raise prices, the food should remain high quality! Unacceptable! The only reason I gave it a 2 star is because the server was very polite, and attentive to our needs.
I was not impressed. Went on a Friday night so it was busy. Not the rudest but not the nicest service. The Salsa wasn't made like in the pictures it tasted like tomato juice and looked like it. No thick chunks like in most Salsa. The Queso was good though.I got Fajitas and they were good but nothing amazing.I was traveling for a wedding and read the reviews. I could have gotten the same meal for half the price and the same quality at home in OKC.After reading reviews (which I didn't do this time) the quality has been lacking.
The server was great and the food like always taste great but I had the worst customer experience today with the manager ladies. I nicely asked for a bag of chips before leaving since we have been eating there but I already cashed out. She said it would be $4.99 charge. With a questionable look on my face I politely ask why? She said it's because we will need to order food to go to get chips. I told her we are already customers but she still said no. That part didn't upset me when the older woman called over a younger lady and as she explains to her what my problem is I told her no ma'am that's not how it went.. she signs at me shrugging her arms and throwing her hands at me upset because I'm just another complaining customer. The other lady says the same thing about being charged since we already checked out. She never said I'm sorry with grace and try to offer me a good customer experience she then just walks off like I'm just a horrible person. I never once raised my voice, never cussed or never yelled. I was treated with such disrespect because sitting close to the cashier station I kept seeing other employees looking at me while the first lady manager seemed to be like she was telling them my story. I felt like some awful person just trying yo get free food when chips are already a free item. I have eaten here for the past 2 1/2 years and today I'm sickened by how I was treated and I'm sure the manager or owner won't care about my review which is even more disappointing. I recommend this place but order food before checking out or they'll charge you extra for everything and won't have any slack to your needs but will treat you like you're a complainer.
It is a good place to pick up a quick bite and a good drink. I stay away from there salsas as it gives me bad heart burn. It is the only salsa I have found that gives me heart burn. So I just don't eat it anymore. Other than that it is a good place to go when need to get in and out real quick.
Everyone here is always so sweet and helpful! Love the food too! Amber is a phenomenal waitress and always has a smile ready!
The food here was excellent! Quantity was good and the flavors were as well, our server was always very helpful. I’ve never had a chimichanga smothered with queso before and it was a great sauce. Definitely recommend
My wife and I ate there on a Sunday afternoon. We waited until the church crowd had cleared out so it would not be too crowded. Server had a hard time getting chips and salsa to our table. Actually took our order before chips and salsa arrived. Food was not near what it was pre Covid. My wife had enchiladas with rice and beans. Cheese enchiladas were bland and the beans tasted like they had come from a bag. I had the combo nachos that had no jalapenos until I asked. The server never refilled our drinks and never checked to see if we needed anything until we were finished eating. We will most likely not be back until some of these issues are addressed. We understand being short staff after the pandemic, but that did not seem to be the case since we went after the crowd had left.
Wow! We were impressed by the quality of food and service that we received at this restaurant. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our toddlers. The atmosphere and experience was pleasant. The food was delicious. They serve some quality Mexican food at this place for sure. The bathrooms were well maintained too.
When it comes to regional food favorites, Amarillo residents do have a few good choices in town. My recent trip to that city included Jorge's (owned by Jorge Albarran, who runs a successful Lubbock franchise). This is his northern spinoff, but without the second-floor balcony or the mariachi band. It was a crowded Saturday night, but it didn't stop me from getting a good table. My order consisted of chicken nachos, chile relleno, beef enchilada, and a soft beef taco. The chicken in this instance is more cubed-cut and not strip, but still very flavorful and meshes well with the beans and cheese. All the other items had a good taste to them, as did the sides of refrieds and Mexican rice. The tortilla chips upon entry are a real winner. The service from my lady was fantastic, as it was busy and crowded, but she did take very good care of me. As Amarillo grows, it's my hope that Jorge can expand his little empire beyond the one location on Bell. Great Mexican food, and don't miss the nachos!
I had the Deluxe Burrito, it was excellent. Johnathon was my server, I'll have to say he was amazing, great attention to detail and care. Best server I've had in a long time. Thank you Johnathon!
