Horrible dining experience. It has the cheesiest decor In Amarillo. As one lady stated it’s “ghastly”. The curtain going into the kitchen was filthy and ripped. I could see inside the filthy kitchen. The waiter had no clue what he was doing. When I ordered my glass of wine I had to repeat it several times seeing he didn’t have a clue what wines they served. It’s not a large selection, which is fine, but you should still know the wines you serve. He then stated “let me go see if I can find it for you”. He searched and searched for the wine, about 20 minutes, and eventually brought me a glass. The water inside the containers with dead flowers at the tables was brown. My friend and myself both had the Lasagne and it was cold in the middle. The pics posted for the restaurant are not at all what it really looks like. The bar top was filled with dirty glasses. There are no tables outside. They only had 4 tables seated In the restaurant and still couldn’t manage to provide good service with 3 waiters. To say the least we will never be back.
We just tried this tonight based on the recommendation of a trusted friend. Let me say, this was the best meal I have had in my life.Everything we tried was exceptional. This quality of food deserves to be eaten slow and savored. We had an amazing conversation with the owner and he really made sure we were enjoying everything. WE WERE.I believe all other dining experiences in Amarillo are going to be a bit more disappointing now that we have experienced Grill Italia. For sure our new date night location.100% recommend.
The food was pretty good, although limited menu. The service was good. But the decor and ambiance were ghastly. Artificial flowers and vines and deer heads and whiskey barrels and paste on wallpaper. We won’t return
The food was fantastic. I had one of the best lasagne I have tasted. My wife got the gnocchi prepared tableside in a parmesan wheel, which was also fantastic. Decor seemed a bit like it was stringed together on a dwindling budget, but the food and service makes that pale in comparison.
Yeah, this place is legit. It's cool to see an authentic Italian place in AMA. Management is all about ensuring your visit is groovy. I've also had the filet and it was fantastic. Cheers!
I went there and the owner was incredibly rude and disrespectful. Always wanted to apologize but nothing he says was true and he was lying. The waitstaff was equally rude to me. I would never recommend this restaurant and I'll definitely never go back. I even heard the head chef make fun a lady and they are incredibly racist.
Hey y’all. Looking for authentic good Italian food? Try Grill Italia in the old BL Bistro. Pepi, the owner, really knows how to cook! They are still in the stages of a soft opening and getting the kinks out, but the food is absolutely delicious. Sorry I have no pictures, but we had a burrata salad and gnocchi. The sauce on the gnocchi was to die for. Erin was our waitress and she was as sweet as could be. The bar tender, Dave, is from Embers! More items will be added to the menu as they get ready for their grand opening! I can’t wait to go back!
House made burrata… freshly made pasta… the best filet I’ve had in a long time… wow! They offer a creative menu that is still authentically Italian.
This place is incredible! The food was delicious authentic Italian… the pasta was fresh made only a couple hours before we got there. Service was great, the owner came around and made sure we had what we needed. And generously gave us a desert drink which was absolutely delicious. I’d definitely recommend this place and I’ll be back for sure!
Wonderful and kind people, amazing food, with amazingly great taste, really nice ambient, Grill Italia is the real Italian restaurant in Amarillo, for a very fair and reasonable price!! This is my recommendation of Italian restaurant at any time and any day. They are expanding the menu and will have many new dishes soon, including desserts. The drinks are also a must there and they have plans to expand the great experience. Just go there and enjoy a good time with family and/or friends, eating a really tasteful Italian food.
