During my travels I was invited to El Manatiel a family owned Mexican restaurant that served up real Mexican food by real people with charateristic hospitality and friendliness that was refreshing and encouraging. A fiesta of good food and good times that will not be forgotten because this is living at its best. This is Amarillo's oldest Mexican restaurant and a local tradition for the many Mexican residents that make up the robust Latino culture in this region. This was a good night to be alive and celebrate the vibrant Mexican heritage and culture that is Texas.
Menu said, Authentic Enchiladas.Gross!!! It wasn’t red Chile, but they were coated in tomato purée.Service was good.Not a good place to eat if you want authentic Mexican food!
Pros: food is delicious, very well seasoned, very Mexican taste. Coffee is worth it!Cons: portions are very small; we had to order something else, prices are expensive for the portion.

This is by far the best place for authentic Mexican food! No matter what you order you'll not be disappointed! The Posole is out of this world and if you're not in the mood for a soup then get the taco plate because it comes with a beef broth to dip them in! You HAVE to get extra rice instead of beans because there is no other place in this world that can compare!!!
Place is very clean and the staff was great! The carne asada was good - meat was soft once bitten into. Staff was always making sure we didn’t run out of chili or chips, drinks etc.

Staff was friendly but couldn’t make a basic order or beef nachos or even nachos with cheese when asked. So I ordered something else and the next morning it didn’t make me feel good. My partner ordered something that she enjoyed but also next morning she did not feel the best. Such a simple order I would have paid $20 for but instead got something cheaper just to eat the beef and everything else was wasted.
