This donut shop is awesome, I am not lying when I tell you I am late for work alot l.o.l because I have to stop and get my morning donuts and coffee. Please come and support this business. These lady bust there butts to make this spot great. No complaints at all about this one. Come on and stop thru in the morning. You will be satisfied.
Tried to get a dozen donuts the other morning. After waiting 25 min in the drive through line, they only had cherry and a few different cake ones left. It was only 8:40am and they were already out of most donuts. They have one job to do - make donuts. Yet that is too much to ask.
The donuts are outstanding and soo delicious. Never met a donut in there I didn't like! The help is a different story. Sorry to report our older counter woman was sharp, rude, and needed an attitde adjustment. She needs to quit working with the public.
I usually go to I-40 on Grand, its closer to where I live but, I still saw the same ladies making the delicious donuts ? ?. Only place to get your donuts in Amarillo...others don't compare to these...Thats right I said that?
Another great visit to the donut stop. Everything in the box was so good. Coconut cake...crisp and delicious. Cinnamon pullapart, so tasty. Great maple glaze! Clerk was friendly and helpful. Told us we could get a sixth donut free. They are not known for their coffee, but don't miss these donuts. Great product, great value.
One of the worst donut shops I've been to. The kolaches were very small, the sausage was dry and leathery like jerky, the bread was hard like a cracker, and they were very overpriced. The "apple fritter" was flat as a pancake, and I noticed no trace of any actual apples or apple flavor. The glazed donuts were fine, nothing special, and the coffee was hot. They weren't selling any of their cold drinks for some reason. If all you want is hot coffee and glazed donuts, you could do a lot better, but this is alright.
Frankly, I had a mixed "good/bad" experience in my only visit to this Donut Stop location:*First of all, I was a little disappointed in the service. The employee behind the counter was borderline rude.,but maybe she was having a bad day or something...who knows.*I was sold an apple fritter that was so thin that you could probably have shaved with it. I'll tell you, definitely not worth the $2.00 I paid for it...HOWEVER, the taste was quite good.*My wife really enjoyed her Bavarian Cream donut (maybe I should have had that instead of the apple fritter).*The coffee was excellent...HOWEVER the extremely cheap cup lids provided were completely unacceptable, unless you actually enjoy hot coffee all over you and your car.NOTE: Donut Stop management should go to a Toot-N-Totum or a Pak-A-Sack to see what a good disposable cup and lid looks like.In conclusion:This not the best Donut Stop in Amarillo, but with a little more effort it could be.
1 sweet woman made up for the other older nasty rude woman who wears glasses and is overweight simply because she is judgemental she would have lost my business from the start if there wasn't any Godly women there such as the one who made the overall experience great focusing on the good not the bad is what I do thank you Lord for that
Gave me the wrong order again. I forgot why I quit going to them. And bad customer service skills.
On my recent Amarillo trip, I decided to give something that looks distinctively local, and I selected Donut Stop to try their sausage kolaches. After stopping at the Wolflin Village location which didn't even have the kolaches (and I wasn't really in the mood for donuts), I was directed over to this I-40 location. The service was not very welcoming at this spot, but the lady behind the counter did show me the actual location where the kolaches are stored. I had ordered two. When I got into my car to eat them, to my disgust, the sausage did not have a very good taste at all. The amount of breading was fine, but the sausage was not smoky at all, and I wonder just what kind of meat actually went into that tripe. After three bites, that was it. I threw the rest out. Makes me wonder now if I should have just stuck with having to just get glazed donuts instead. Forget it. Donut Stop may be a longtime Amarillo institution, but it clearly has shown that it doesn't do kolaches well. Thankfully, there are other places for the next time around.
