I’ve eaten here many, many times. Most recently with friends. I ordered a fancy bar drink. It was very strong, which I appreciate when you spend 15$ on a drink. It SHOULD be strong. I WANT to like the food here. I really do, because the restaurant vibe itself is really nice. It’s probably the most popular upscale restaurant in Amarillo. There are patios upstairs and downstairs and they always have great live music. The broccoli raab was really tasty ( although the stems extremely tough). Blue cheese risotto didn’t taste anything like blue cheese. I had several friends try it and they all agreed. My husband liked his spicy tacos. I had a peach salad and it was fresh, but I wouldn’t order it again (too sweet for my taste) I’m mostly vegetarian so not much on the menu to choose from in that category. That’s ok though, because Crush will always be a spot I will choose for drinks and music.
These guys were so accommodating to make space for an unscheduled gathering of 24 of us out of towners. The drinks were well made snd the service wonderfully attentive. We ordered every item on the appetizer menu. It was a battle to get to the food. Fabulous. The vibe was so good we returned two more times worth the trip downtown!!
Nothing but good things to say from Josh are wine Somalia, who was spot on on his recommendations for not just by the glass but by the bottle ( on a separate wine book menu) And can’t praise enough the Smokey old fashion. Jordan is a wonderful server with vast knowledge of menu very personable and a pleasure. .Tunatare to steaks and risotto were all delicious!! Would definitely recommend and come back.
Let me start off by saying that the food here was exceptional! I had the smash burger and it was very juicy the bun was crisp and the portion was generous. However my issue was with the service. First thing, after we ordered the waiter had asked us what kind of salad we wanted, insinuating that it was included with our meal. You can imagine our surprise when we had almost a $30 charge for salads that almost none of us ate. Our waiter seemed very inattentive with our table. Our group had to request most things we ordered three or four times before finally receiving it. It was a very frustrating experience. Especially with there only being about 6 tables in the entire restaurant at the time of service. Delicious food, mediocre service.
In town for work, A Friend and his Wife took me to eat there for my Birthday on 3/11/22. I ordered the chicken piccata and it was excellent. My friend had the Tuna Puttanesca and his wife had the grilled salmon. We all scraped our plates clean. I highly recommend this place to eat and enjoy the ambiance. The food is fresh, served hot and the presentation was magnificent. Whomever is back there in the kitchen deserves their own TV cooking show.
Four things to know about Crush Wine Bar:1. They have a nice outdoor patio AND they’re dog-friendly. They treated our boys so well. The chef even made them a plain chicken breast. 2. The food is good, but not great. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing, though! My boyfriend loved his steak and shrimp yaki soba. My miso cod was only okay. The side of Brussels were good!3. Super friendly staff. They were a bit slow, but they were definitely friendly.4. Fun location in Amarillo! Lots of surrounding bars.
What a great place! We started with Tuna Tartar as the appetizer.. Delicious! Ask for extra wonton chips to compliment the tasty bites! For entrees we had the quail duo and the duck. Both were fabulous!! The duck was perfectly seared with a pink center and an apricot brandy sauce that was decadent. The quail was a bit over salted, but still delicious and cooked to perfection. We selected a pilot noir that paired well with all the dishes, but especially well with the duck. Ashton, our server, had several tables to keep him busy, but he still gave us impeccable service with charm! Couldn't ask for better service. My only wish was for a larger wine selection since they advertise being a "wine" bar. There were only 2 or 3 choices of wine of each type. However, the wine we chose was of wonderful quality. We will be back! Next time we will save room for the decadent looking Creme Brule with raspberries that we saw being served to a neighboring table.
Crush is a great choice for drinks or diner in downtown Amarillo. Sleek wood-and-concrete design. Well staffed with personable team members. Very good wine and spirits. This place could easily hold its own in a larger city. Also, nice to see cowboy-hatted locals patronizing the place. Food didn't knock-it out of the park, but it wasn't bad. Enjoyed my visit.
This is an amazing place. I have been there twice and I have loved every single second. The menu is delicious and wine list is great; best cab franc ever.Josh was our waiter the two times we went there and he's amazing. The ambience, location, service, music, desserts, etc., are a wonderful experience to have. But, Josh made it extra special. I highly recommend the cheese curds, the cab franc, caprese salad, steak frites, and desserts.
We seriously love this place ,food is amazing and drinks are too! Love the mussels only thing I wish they still had is the Kimchi Noodles ,those where the first meal I tried from crush and fell in love with their food! Please put them back on the menu ?
