Our first time to eat at Happy Takos was this past Thursday, 7/21/22 after driving by it many times. We were a little worried when we drove up to the drive through to order because it was close to 8:45 p.m., and 9:00 p.m. was their closing time. We were so hungry that we would have gladly accepted whatever was leftover from the day! Fortunately for us we were able to order what we wanted, and were helped by one of the owners, who was pleasant and patient with us as we were figuring out what to eat and answering all our questions. She even "comped" us some queso and chips! We were so grateful for her gesture, and the delicious food. We live in Houston but go to Alvin fairly regularly for golf so we are definitely making time the next trip to visit Happy Takos again and recommending it to our friends!
The service was phenomenal and the staff was well educated on the menu. Considering the supply chain issues, the prices were reasonable for the quantity of food you are getting. If your looking for a place with good tacos and Mexican food, I recommend this location.
I have eaten here a few times for breakfast and lunch and it has always been amazing! My family and I had dinner here for the first time last night and it was phenomenal! The food was spectacular, the atmosphere was great, but the staff went above and beyond!! It is a family owned restaurant, and they took the time to fill us in on the menu items, let us try a few things, chat with us and give us the history of the restaurant, and really tried to get to know us. I highly recommend Happy Takos!! We will definitely be back!!!
The tacos are actually so big! And full of flavor! One person could order two and be full. The burritos are a big size as well enough to still have some to take home. The chilaquiles weren’t as great but still better than most places. You won’t regret ordering from here. On Mondays they have free margaritas too!
Been here twice. Breakfast tacos all day. Food I have had thus far is legit and on point. Bottled sauces are good, as well as the spicey salsa. ?Cool interior decor, and concept. I honestly think that if they can keep up the quality, maintain good people, and excellent service, there is a bright future in store. Smart setting this up in Alvin. Took a bit to open, but glad they did.
This place has the best breakfast tacos in town. Like, no question. The prices are on point and the serving size more than matches what you’re paying for. The fountain machine dispenses flat drinks that have a mildew taste to em and the sweet tea wasn’t very good, which is why I couldn’t give five stars, but we got the burrito and the torta and I don’t regret it. I’ll definitely be back. Often. If you like spicey, then ask for the hottest sauce because we got the medium and it was milder than Taco Bell’s mild sauce. Good flavor though! Highly recommend you try this place at least once.
This is much more than a taco place, so let's get that out there right now! They do have a small dining area so you can enjoy your food there and not have to take it home.So let's run down the five stars they earned and even give some slight criticisms.Ambiance: the facility is new so that's kinda easy but the style that the owners used was what was great! Beautiful red floors, contrasted with dark ceilings, and good art on the walls. (Where did yall get that bomb AC?!)Food: street tacos with amazing flavor! I tried three things on the menu and was taken back by how fast I was filled up!Service: now we did have somewhat of a small service hick up with our order but the way it was handled was amazing! Everything was corrected and even the manager came out to make sure we were Okay! It's hard to compare the inside service since the area is so small but I'd say Buffalo Wild Wings esk?Overall the experience was amazing and we will be back. Now let's give some criticism so yall folks don't think they paid me for this. The food can be on the salty side, to me it was amazing, but I'd salt salt if I could but to a normal person it could be on the salty side. This piece will be over once the location is done with full construction but it was a slight irritation that they had people working on the facility on rickety scaffolding while we were eating. But that AC yall got on the wall... BOMB AS HELL!
Everything was AMAZING. Huge portions, every bite of every item we tried was delicious (and we tried a number of items), and they even have great items for kids (plus cute little buckets with toys!). Plus, everything, including the tortillas, is homemade! (Note that homemade food does take a bit more time--it's not instant like your mass-produced places, so please be patient, this level of excellence takes time.) Go see Lindy and come hungry!!
First time at Happy Takos.got 2 breakfast tacos ,bean and cheese burrito. Wait was over 40 minutes. When food came out half my order came out, family was missing half their order.Staff seems young and maybe not experienced enough for such a busy place. Tacos tasted amazing but the burrito fell flat like all tortilla not much beans. The floor is greasy slick,it might be the stuff they are spraying on the tables. The staff was amazing very polite,u can tell they are working hard.My family and I will be back for sure.i just really work on the floor if someone slipped it could be bad.
Not happy at happy Taco. We drove 20 mins to check you out after reading good reviews. Arrived at 1230 on Sunday. Two cars in the parking lot. One table of seated customers (2 people). We were greeted at the door by an employee sweeping the floor. She welcomed us and advised the wait time would be at least an hour, possibly longer. We told her we just wanted a taco to go. She said they had so many pending orders in front of us that would be at least an hour wait for A TACO!! Nope, we are NOT waiting. Left. Not sure we will go back. You gotta do better than that!
