1st timer. The glaze donuts were soft and pillowy. Fairly large too, which is good. But that is all we got to try because most donuts were gone by 10. Get there early.
The donuts here are really good: soft, gooey, and rich taste. The kolaches were a bit cold though, but I forgot to ask them to microwave it (which I assume they have one).
These Donuts are soooo good. Well worth the line (short line). Our first visit but won't be our last.
Got there at 5:45 this morning. 3 people in line, all buying multiple dozens. Table on the side filled up with pick up orders. Best basic donuts around. Sorry about their fryer breaking later this morning. With it putting out that much product it's a wonder it hasn't broken sooner.
Donut holes 2.19 a dirty dozen. The prices on this website is way beyond the true price. The chocolate on the donut is cake icing. Smoked are 1.15 cheaper than the donuts. Don't believe the prices on this site. A change of 40 to 70 cents on all. They aren't friendly there strictly business
I really wanted to like these donuts, but they're an odd texture (and shape) and have WAY too much icing to donut ratio. Generally, a chocolate frosted is on a plain donut, but these we're frosted on top of an already heavily glazed donut ? My son and I can normally eat 2-3 each, but we couldn't even finish one. Not worth the wait in a super long line, imo! There are much better quality donut shops in the immediate area.
I finally tried one of these donuts after so many people have said that they are the best donuts in the area. I seriously do not understand why this is the thought! I tried a glazed donut. Completely disgusting full of oils and soggy and just gross. No flavor whatsoever, just pure powdered sugar mixture. Wasn't flaky. Wasn't airy. Not a good donut just a soggy cake. As soon as I ate it, stomach was upset and my teeth hurt. Glad others like this place but I suggest going elsewhere.

You cannot go wrong with any item at Max’s! I make a point to visit every time I’m in town and they are the bar that defines a perfect donut for me :) When a glazed donut brings this much joy there must be a little magic involved :) Please don’t miss out on one of my favorite Texas staples :)
The apple fritters are amazing. I like the donuts but those fritter keep me coming back. Fresh and tasty just wish was closer to my house.
