Amazing Philly Cheesesteaks my husband and I have had in the McKinney, Allen & Addison area! We have been on a quest to find really good Philly Cheesesteak and this is definitely the one ! The meat was tender and flavorful. The bread was soft and kept everything together unlike many other places we have been to. Thank you very much for a great experience!
Hubby likes their mushroom Philly. Son lives the pastrami Philly.. And I'm all about the plain Philly. Fries are good, not too soft it too crunchy. Their special sauce is regular it spicy.. Always yummy. I highly recommend.
There were two Philly Cheese Steak places very close to one another. We chose Fred’s We were going to dine in since we’d been driving all day in the hot Texas sun, but when we walked inside, it seemed they were not running the air conditioning. It was very warm. The sandwich choices were reasonable, but the presentation and flavor was just ho hum. We got to our lodging and discovered my wife’s #10 (#10 is a chicken philly) was beef. She was not a happy camper. At least they remembered to hold the onions. My onion straws were simple onion rings, and nothing to write home about. We probably would not return here. Food is always made to order and is delicious. It’s hard to find a good cheesesteak, but these are great—the rolls are crusty, the steak is plentiful and well-seasoned, the cheese and other toppings get mixed into the steak well. If cheesesteaks were health food, I’d eat here every week.
I’m from Jersey and I know a great cheesesteak and this was THE best cheesesteak I’ve ever had. The bread/hoagie was super duper soft, the meat was plentiful and seasoned JUST right, grilled onions on-point, i got american cheese and was melted to perfection. I’m so glad we found this spot and look forward to coming back soon. Oh, and the fries were cut fresh and piping hot!
Very nice staff. Dingy place, smells like a toilet inside for some reason. Unfortunately just not good food.

One of the Best Fred's Downtown Philly in the metroplex. If your really hungry, step up and battle the Liberty Bell! I tried and failed!!!! There is even photographic evidence on the walls of the restaurant of all who have failed and the few that have triumphed! #4 Large is my go to and gives a real taste of Philly here in Texas!
My first time here, I got the biggest sandwich on the menu. In my opinion, if you have a great sandwich, even nearly a pound of extra meat isn't going to take away it's greatness. It did not disappoint. I have had multiple sandwiches now including the chicken and all options selected have been superb. There is even a house sauce that pairs very well with any sandwich I've had here. I am hooked, and I highly recommend.
I went on a mission to find the BEST of the BEST in Philly cheese steaks locally in Allen and surrounding city's.The Allen location is the absolute winner.Customer service=100%, the owner and employees go above and beyond to make you a sandwich that isn't just a meal, but an experience.Quality of bread and ingredients= 100%Always fresh, hot and comforting.If you order a sandwich you know what you're going to get if you've ordered it before.There are a plethora of sandwiches, burgers fries and sides to choose from and every single thing I've tried so far has been delicious.I'm currently working my way down the menu and going to order every item Fred's in Allen tx offers.
