Really nice place! Casual dining with an upscale feel. Good bar and wine if that's your thing. Totally recommend the queso. Pulled pork carnitas tacos were on the "ok" side. The thin tortilla caused it to fall apart pretty easily. Daughter had the tomato soup which was pretty great. Likewise the mashed potatoes and street corn. Will absolutely return.
Ok, I spied this place a couple of weeks ago and finally got in to check it out. We had dinner, which was good but we'll be coming back for breakfast or weekend brunch for sure. We had the Mediterranean Chicken and Texas-Sized Wagyu Chicken Fried Steak. It was all really good but the Mediterranean Chicken has tons of different flavors going on. I thought the cafe was clean, orderly and open with plenty of seating with small tables or big booths to spread out in. The deserts looked awesome, and they have some interesting mixed drinks and wine too. Can't wait to try more at this place!
Yesterday I decided I wanted some breakfast it was my first time here and I asked the cashier what would she recommend. She started off fantastic and let me take my time. I went with the big breakfast plate with potatoes, pancakes (extra cost for chocolate chips) and I went with double bacon but next time ill choose sausage and bacon. They have many many options for choices of meat which is fantastic. I also got a caramel latte which was absolutely delicious, the whipped cream on top was cold and when sipping in helped cool off my mouth from the hot coffee. I’m normally an iced coffee gal but decided on hot yesterday because it was cloudy. The food smelled delicious, the taste was even better. I got so full only off the bacon potatoes and eggs. The pancake was also delicious but also a really big size. The potatoes really had good seasoning and a bit of kick which paired really well with the runny sunnyside up egg. The bacon had a bit to much pepper but I just scraped it off and continued eating. Overall this place is absolutely delicious, prices are reasonable to me. I paid $23 but added a tip. I will be back!
Walk in to "standing in line" to order, but it moves fairly fast. They give you a transponder to track where you're sitting and bring your order to your seat. 2 large rooms off the main room and outdoor seating.Bar seating is available.Celebrating my birthday, we ordered a bottle of bubbly: $15 Bottle of Wycliff w/ an alcohol content at 10.5%My chicken and waffles were tasty with a huge waffle and 5 chicken pieces; however, I asked for seconds on the syrup. My husband's Eggs Benedict had very crispy English muffins and a tart hollandaise sauce with a dark orange sprinkle (He cut the scallions).Note: The side of house potatos have onions and red peppers in them. The servers are very nice and it's a beautiful café; the vibe reminds me of The Cheesecake Factory. I will definitely go back.Note: By 1:30 pm on Saturday, there was no line ~ one can walk right in!
Food was very good, quite a bit overpriced for self service of most everything. They overcharged us for cheddar on two orders of grits that had no cheddar when delivered. Manager 'corrected it' but I should have checked the receipt when he made said correction. He only credited one, not both. Not pleased that they upcharged for cheddar without disclosing it was $1.59 more, each, then did not even include cheddar on top!!! The bloody Mary flight was great. Lobster Benedict was awesome.
Ordered at 1:35 and didn’t get drinks and food until 2:15 asked 4 different people and still nothing and the guy I asked said oh well I can your money back and shrugged his shoulders! Terrible service especially from management! Never again!!
Our brunch was good, but the eggs were cold by the time we got our food!!
I want to give this location 5 star but things have changed. Service use to be top tier. Everything was great about this Black Walnut but lately things have changed tremendous. I wish the old staff was back this is my third time coming in a two week period and I don’t want to ever go back. Please hire better staff especially the ones that’s located at the registers and serving food.
Food was absolutely amazing. Service was the best. Danny was so awesome and the tomato soup was the best I’ve ever tasted ? Lobster Benedict shown below is a must try if you go.
