I'm new to McKinney from New Orleans so we are always looking for places with great vibes and drinks. We visited here with about 8 parents from my son's baseball team and we had a blast. There was a live DJ on Friday and we danced, ate and drink. The atmosphere was chill. The service amazing and this pasta I ordered was likely the best pasta I've had in this area. Nice work Bar Louie!
Just happened to stumble across this restaurant because the one we originally planned on going to was super packed...pleasantly surprised at how good the food was.
This place offers several happy hour specials that are worth the try for the price. I had an excellent dirty martini during HH. The fried calamari was greasy and there wasn't much of it so not my favorite. It does have plenty of outdoor/indoor seating.
Just went to Bar Louis on 3/24/2022 at 4:05. We sat at the bar. We were the only 2 on the west side of the bar. Waited and waited. Bartenders just ignoring us and chatting up the waitress. The place had 4 at the bar counting us along with 2 tables. After 10-15 minutes,the bartender and waitress watched us walk out. Never said a word. So we went to Gloria's where Evelin provided excellent service.

Our first time today. Took over an hour for appetizer of only fried pickles. They weren’t even that busy. Probably an 1 1/2 hours to get our food that wasn’t even that hot. You would think that long the Mac and cheese would have very hot. Fries came in a cup that was stuffed with paper to make it look like there was more. And they were warm not hot. Should not have taken two hours. Will not be going back.
Bartender Justin is very attentive and personal. Always a great time when he’s on shift. One of the best happy hours in the area!
We enjoy this place, the atmosphere is calm with a good variety of drinks and food. Each time we go we try new things and have not been disappointed except with their dessert. The bathrooms aren’t great, but otherwise the staff works hard and the food and drinks are great! If you’re getting fries definitely ask foe the jalapeño honey mustard, it’s amazing!!
We celebrated my birthday at Bar Louie last night - Bar Louie has always been an awesome place to gather with friends, the food is great and the drinks are AMAZING! We all had a really great time, however our server, Alan, was quite LAME. We had a large group of people, close to 20 people. He kept offering to bring water instead of the drinks we ordered. Offered taxis and Ubers when we weren’t even planning to leave. Was pretty offensive. We are well behaved adults and old enough to know how to drink responsibly in public. Finally had to order from the bar to get drinks because our server, who I would think would want to make money for the bar and himself, acted like he didn’t want to serve our group alcohol. I will definitely remember this experience the next time I plan an outing with my friends without children.
Alan was a wonderful server. First time here and everything was wonderful. Ate the appetizer so fast forgot to take a picture.
