I remember this place from the early 90’s just outside love field airport. I was pleasantly surprised to see some locations still exist! Wow I have no memories of it being this delicious! We appreciated the bread options and the size of the croissants for the sandwiches! Everything was so fresh, sounds silly but that lettuce was just perfect on our sandwiches and there was nothing fancy about it! We went back a couple times to bring back food for a picnics in the park! We loved this place!
Today was my first time eating at The Great Outdoors Sub Shop. The sandwich was fresh and delicious. I would return based on the food; however, the shop's atmosphere is where it is. You can tell the team loves what they do and enjoy having fun with the customers and their co-workers. I can't wait to return! Thank you to the ladies that brightened my day and made me laugh!

I only come to this restaurant bc my spouse enjoys their sandwiches. I however, do not. Their service and food is poor. Today I went in to retrieve his food order. I presented the punch card for a stamp. I was told that they only did the punches online and that I would have to register there. Not a problem. I asked if she (white, younger female) could validate my visit or today w/ a signature so that when submitting, there would be no question or objection when asking for $% discount upon next visit. This then became a thing. I asked for a check, or a signature or a punch on a card. She became rude and dismissive. The same behavior I received from another employee (AA w/ braids) months ago. If you're not going to to be any type of help, let me know that. That way I know how to respond when approaching and can treat you as you treat me.
My favorite sandwhich place EVER. I love all of the options and that you can get anything on a croissant. The guy typically working the slicer remembers my order even after we moved away and it had been months since we came in. The staff is always so friendly!My go-to is #6 on a croissant with campfire mayo. My husband gets the #12.
