Best BBQ in Abilene HANDS DOWN!! They are friendly people that work there and food is amazing!
Everything! They hands down have the best barbecue of anyone for 200 miles. They are creative with what they do. I never tire of it. They are the nicest people you will ever meet and deserve all the positive attention they have gotten.
I've eaten at Jay's three times in the last 2 weeks. Two days in a row now! There Brisket, Mac& Cheese, and Beans are all very well prepared. I'll return for sure the next time I'm in Abilene! They ladies that take and call out the orders are top notch!
The ribs were the best I’ve ever had. The Bbq sauce has real kick to it and the pickles, we’ll let’s just say they can cause a one-eyed crunch.
Brisket was good, definitely not the best I've had; Lubbock has better BBQ joints with better brisket (I lived in Lubbock all my life & recently moved to this area) Mac N cheese was excellent!! Pulled pork was good. Really enjoyed the homemade pickles and the poppers were very good. They definitely need to get a better system in place for sold out meats, it sucks to wait in line for an hour for ribs then hear an announcement that they're out of ribs. Either announce it every few minutes or have a board showing what is sold out so everyone can see it as they arrive. It is not fair to your patrons to wait so long in line then be out of what you drove an hour for. 2 hours of wasted time! Very disappointed in the way they handle this part of the operation! Btw we arrived at 12:45 on a Saturday. Maybe sometime I'll leave home at 9:50 a.m. so I can get there right at opening and not be disappointed. Please do better and be more considerate of your patrons!
Worth the 1.5hr drive just to get this amazing BBQ! Found it by chance, but made a trip just for this delicious food! Everything is so tender and flavorful! Staff is friendly and welcoming. One of my favorite BBQ spots for sure!
Waited in a line about 40 people deep and it was worth it! The Brisket is on point and OMG the jalapeño Mac n cheese….. yup come eat here but get here early. We arrived at 11:02 am it there was already a line
DELICIOUS barbecue - worth standing in line for! I can recommend the brisket, sausage, pulled pork & pork belly (which I believe they call pig candy).Friendliest service makes the experience that much better.
Was very good and good price as well.
This is what brisket is supposed to taste like. Very well cooked and seasoned. Sausage was good too. Ribs were well cooked but could use more meat. Candy bacon was tasty even though I ordered burnt ends (There is a difference I wish they would of told me). Everyone was friendly and line moved quickly.
