Some good and not so good. This place is a mainstay for Downtown Abilene. Even though parking is horrible and the food is average; there just aren’t a lot of choices. Soup and salad combo was good. Thai chicken salad was good. I had the Hot Pastrami which is their take on a Reuben sandwich. It was the driest sandwich I have ever had. Stick with soups and salads and you should be fine.
We went for lunch and had an experience that was even better than expected. My husband raved about his chicken tortilla soup, tasty and chock full of goodies. I had a salad which was accompanied by the best corn muffin I’ve ever had. Service was excellent, checked ingredients for me. The manager also checked on us.
I have been here a few times and love the dynamic menu, it always seems to have a good variety of food with changes to keep it fresh and exciting... The cherry on top is their maple old fashioned, I have never had a better one ANYWHERE in the world and that is with standard bourbon, I plan on trying one made with an upgrade on my next trip to Abilene...
This lovely restaurant had been recommended to us and it was not a disappointment. It was a chilly day so we were seated next to the fireplace. The menu items were from a very general perspective but wow, how to choose! We also drank the craft beer from the menu which was fabulous. Great service, delicious food, polite and friendly staff, very reasonable prices. This place is a gem. Don’t miss out if you visit Abilene Tx.
Pretty underwhelming food. Got the Big J Burger with bacon and pulled pork. Bacon was overcooked, Pork was very dry and bland, and the beef didn't even taste seasoned. The fries were okay I guess, but if I'm going to be paying 17 dollars for a burger. I'd expect a 17 dollar burger. I can get something tastier from whataburger for half the price.
Rebecca is wonderful! Friendly and accommodating she is marvelous. The restaurant was clean, service great and the meatloaf burger, slaw, and house made chips were great!
I've heard many things about this place but today was my first time there. It's really a great place to eat and we felt very fancy eating here. I highly recommend if your celebrating a birthday.
Cypress Street Station has long been a staple of fine dining in Abilene. For any who doubt whether this has continued after the sudden tragic loss of the former owner, rest assured the current owners are carrying on the friendly vibes and high quality as they establish themselves as excellent restauranteurs and great community members. Both of our entrees were superb and the selection of beverages was comprehensive. We highly recommend CSS.
Make sure you make a reservation to come here on the weekends… It is always packed. And for good reason! The owners, Terry and Amanda, know that people love good food… but they love being treated like royalty even more. Their manager, Matt, has helped train all of the staff to give you this fabulous culinary experience. Greg Gee is not only a chef, but an artist. He makes every dish delicious. The scallops are to die for. Always perfect. And my husband usually gets the special, and is never disappointed. Krystalle is our favorite bartender on earth. She makes the best lemon drops, chocolate martinis, and dirty martinis in town. They don’t skimp on alcohol like the other fancy bars. And if you sit in the bar, ask for Rebecca as your waitress. ALL of their staff is wonderful. The decor, the atmosphere, the service, and the expertise from the chefs in the kitchen will keep you coming back!
Delish!! The daily specials are always the best!! The chef is super talented! Highly suggest eating here for lunch or dinner - you can't go wrong!
