They've gone doooooooown hill. I have lived here since 1995 and this place was always busy and good. Now you go on fathers day and the food was ok, nothing great and the soft serve ice cream machine was broken and that's like the only good dessert they have :(. Its been a good 6 or 7 years since I have been here just because and I was looking forward to it. For two seniors and two adults we paid well over $50 before tip and all of us only had one plate and a soda each. It used to be worth it, but idk when it crashed. We probably will not be back !
China Star used to be my go-to Chinese buffet. I haven't returned since 2014, but I am very disappointed. The food was extremely soggy and cold. The floor was disgusting, it was so sticky that I felt that every single step I took it felt like my feet were glued onto the ground. Then, to top it all off I entered the restroom to see a roach on the wall. Staff was nice though, but I will not be coming back.
Rice noodles that go with soup were stale. I dipped them in soup and when I bit down on them they cracked a front tooth and a molar. I started choking. Thank God I had my water. When I called them to tell them about it they said I was lying. I didn't ask them to pay to fix my teeth. I just wanted them to know my experience. Very rude and ugly. I won't eat here anymore and have a dentist on speed dial if you do.
I grew up in Abilene and China Star was always one of the best buffets. Haven't been back home in a few years so was super excited to go hit the buffet but wow, what a disappointment!?Every dish on the buffet was soggy, rice noodles were hard and crunchy.. Pepper steak texture seemed it had been out for hours and even the egg roles were burnt on the outside! Just a wad of mush on the inside. Fried fish, rubber.. The only thing that was even remotely enjoyable was the Dr. Pepper!?A lot of memories eating at this place but I will never go back. Be warned! ✌️
i had ribs i could bend the bone of the ribs 360 degrees and the bone did not snap, and i got sick. do not go here anywhere but here
Place was nasty from the moment we walked In.. we should walked back out. Food was at best a 3 out of 10 because it was cold and could tell had been sitting. Then when I went to go wash my hands I see a roach by salad area.. We notified 2 employees and they both just acted like it was normal and didn’t seem concerned. Save your money and your stomach..
I like to stop in Abilene for lunch on my way to Odessa from DFW and I go here every time. The food is delicious and there’s plenty of it, so it’s easy to over eat! ? 4 stars instead of 5 tho because the bathrooms are gross. But still highly recommended! ?
Most of food was barely warm much less hot off line. Soup was okay too. No ice cream for dessert. Plus was lots of variety of foods. Overall, a below average visit.
Always a good meal. Prices are reasonable and the staff are so very polite.I would have given a 5 star rating but a few of my favorites were missing.
Pricing is great, food is delicious. Service is fantastic. Love their dumplings and cabbage. Someone's they do a kimchi that's really good.
