Drove by on the way to hotel for work visit from out of town. Looked up on TripAdvisor and called and ordered two meat combo plate with brisket, sausage, jalapeño cornbread, macaroni salad, and potato salad. Convenient with a drive-through to be able to pick up food. Overall the food was good with good flavor. Brisket was tender and it and sausage were good with provided barbecue sauce. Sausage was more reminiscent of grocery store sausage than restaurant sausage. Potato salad had great flavor as did banana pudding. Macaroni salad and cornbread were both good as well. Definitely a place to check out if looking for somewhere to grab food while at one of the local hotels.

Best bbq joint in the area! Love the consistent flavor of food from them. My family has frequented this place for at least two decades now!

It’s been years since we had the fried catfish at Betty Roses but it was always very good. Today we both had the catfish and it had a very rubbery texture to it. It was nowhere near as good as it had been in the past. I suspect that the oil was not hot enough, but that’s just my guess. I might add that we had never been to this particular Betty Rose’s location so I can’t say if this is normal or not for that location. Sometime in the future we might try the catfish at the other location to see how it is, but probably won’t return to the north side location.

We arent from this town, we just found it randomly on our way out. It was THE BEST meal we had had all weekend we were in town. The staff was great, the brisket sandwiches had SO much meat i had to take some off to be able to eat it? not a complaint, total bonus, got to carry it home. Would def go back!!!

My wife and I were searching for an ideal BBQ place in the Abilene area. Not too many were open but fortunately Betty Rose caught my attention. They have an excellent selection of meats and sides. The potato salad was especially delicious. The only downside was the pinto beans not being fully cooked and the BBQ sauce not being robust. I'll stop there again when our entire family travels with us.

Were here for lunch. We both ordered the brisket sandwich. My partner said his was good but mine was full of fat and very greasy. Potato salad and coleslaw were tasty.

Decent service, but... it's like BBQ from a high school cafeteria - brisket with no smoke, tough as shoe leather, not even warm. Others in my group had pulled pork, chicken, turkey, sausage. All were lame. One had a stuffed baked potato which was good. Maybe it's not BBQ season or something, but it's like they aren't even trying. Will never go there again. Pathetic.

A great place to get banana pudding with the meal!

Loved it. This food would be worth traveling across Texas to Abilene for. The brisket is tender yet meaty, naturally smokey tasting and delicious. The barbecue sauce was perfect with a nice tanginess. The beans were like homemade and the potato salad may be the best I've ever had. Yum.

Disappointing. Ordered 3 meat plate, got 1 rib (it was tiny) and 1 piece of brisket. Fries were old and corn bread was dry. BBQ sauce was good. Don’t come after 7 they’re serving old food and what’s left.
