Martin's is one of the best BBQ joints around. I was sad when one of their competitors (the one with a playing card moniker) went out of business, but I value the food integrity and commitment to customer safety that Martin's has implemented and maintained. The food is excellent and the staff is friendly. I had the brisket. Outside of Texas, you're not going to find brisket this smoky and full of flavor. If you're a brisket person like me, get it. Just do. It's phenomenal! If you like BBQ, don't miss out on Martin's.
Friendly folks and great food! I had the Kid Brother platter, and that’s about all my Yankee belly could hold. Pulled pork and brisket were both moist. Mac ‘n’ cheese and hoecakes were delicious. Didn’t really like having to go up to the bar for refills, butter, or a different style of BBQ sauce, but all those things are available if you ask.
Smoke wafted into the black night sky as we passed the pit room visible at the entrance, which I thought was a cool design feature. I'd have liked to get some better photos of the outside, but it was dark... and cold. They claim that West Tennessee whole-hog barbecue tradition is the cornerstone of their operation, and that everything they serve is made from scratch. Naturally, I had to try the pork shoulder sandwich. I had read some good reviews on their smoked wings, so we got an order of those to split as well. For my sandwich side, I chose an unconventional option of broccoli salad. The sandwich was served with a thin tomato-vinegar sauce and slaw on top. I pulled a few pieces of pork out to sample alone, and they were fantastic. The juicy pork held an unmistakable hint of wood smoke- excellent on it's own but not strong enough to stand out on the sandwich. It was a great sandwich, but I would probably order the pork on it's own next time. The wings were good and had a great sauce, but not enough smoke in my opinion. Maybe my expectations were too high based on other reviews, but I would probably skip these next time- especially since it's so easy to make them how I like them at home. The broccoli salad was a great accompaniment to the meats. It was obviously homemade and was a good choice- and now I want to try the other sides. I'm sure I will return when I'm in the area again, and I'm already looking forward to trying the rest of the menu.So it's not an authentic old-time tradition spot, but this is about as good as chain bbq gets. Definitely worth a stop.
Cute atmosphere! I got the smoked turkey, mac&cheese, and broccoli salad. The turkey was a little dry in my opinion. But the sauces provided were delicious and unique!
Best BBQ Joint anywhere. D love the environment!
Top notch BBQ, fast service, an eclectic sports bar atmosphere, outdoor covered dining available. I would absolutely go again. Our whole party loved it.

First time eating bbq in Nashville area! Prices were fine, service was good and friendly, meat quantity was a little skimpy, but the bbq sauces made it worth it. Nice this place was close, but 25 bucks for the brisket sandwich and potato was not really worth it. Won’t complain if we go back though.
LOVE their pulled pork sandwiches and fresh hand-cut fries! Hubby usually gets the ribs and loves them. This time he had the Catfish sandwich with mac n cheese.
This place is barbecue for people who don't know any better. The meat was dry, and the sauces were mediocre. The redeeming qualities were the tasty sides (besides the baked beans that tasted like salsa), optional outdoor seating, and the kind and attentive staff. I enjoyed the food, but I felt it was not worth the nearly $50 dollars we spent and likely will not return.
