Stopped in on my way back home to Texas for some Hot Chicken, and it was great! All the food was excellent and fried to perfection. The fried okra, fried pickles, and hot chicken tenders were especially good. Super nice folks as well. Highly recommended!
Traveling from Oregon with my kids decided to stop for lunch at Mack’s,OMG the best chicken we have ever had!! Definitely worth the stop!!

I had visited Mack’s on two previous occasions and enjoyed the chicken. Happened to be in Smyrna today and stopped by to grab lunch. Checked their website earlier in the day to verify what time they opened and saw that they open at 11AM on Wednesday’s. Got there at 11 and not a single person or vehicle around. Sign on the door says it opens at 11. If the hours have changed an update to the website would be helpful. Edit to my previous post. I was unaware of the passing of the founder of Mack’s and certainly understand why the restaurant was closed. Sorry for your loss.
Best whiting in town! Always gives more than enough food and the fish is fried to perfection. Also, the young lady that usually works the front register is always friendly… customer service goes a long way with me and she never misses the mark.
Chicken and Catfish were delicious! The service was great. A very nice and polite young lady takes your order and will bring it out to your vehicle. Great food and excellent service!
This is my go to place for fried fish. I absolutely love the whiting plate. I get it Every. Single. Time ? medium heat to I can truly enjoy every scrumptious morsel. My kids love ? the hot chicken tenders. They are excellent as well????During my last visit, this lady danced ?? her way in and out. She obviously couldn’t contain her excitement for the food she was about to eat?
I’ve very excitedly tried every hot chicken spot in Nashville and while many are really great, Mack’s is my favorite. Made to order and worth the wait; great value for the portions and outstanding flavor & texture. Being family owned and operated, I have so much respect for this little joint and enjoy my experience every. single. time.We haven’t disliked anything we’ve had but my personal favorites include the chicken tenders in medium sauce with extra pickles & the fish with collard greens. My husband always gets the chicken sandwich (it comes with spicy ranch, coleslaw, pickles on it) with Mack Attack sauce and is SWEATING by the time he’s done but always says that the flavors of each component are perfection on the taste buds, even if it’s freaking ???
I was unhappy with the hot chicken place in Murfreesboro so gave this one a try. I was nervous about portions so I got 2 hot chicken tender plates with fries. I’m on day 3 now with another meal left and it just keeps getting better. Great value, great service and great food. I’ll definitely be back
