First time here. Was pretty empty when I first came in. Cashier helped me with toppings on my chicken sandwich and told me spice levels. She was nice and helpful, I didn’t feel rushed which is appreciated. I ordered chicken sandwiches, I was told 20-30 min wait and that took me by surprise. I’m pregnant and had a headache and honestly not in the mood to wait that long but it was too late, I already ordered and paid. I noticed some people came in after me and got their food before me- not sure what happened there but after checking my wait time- 25 min had passed and finally my order was up. I was disappointed to hear they didn’t have some toppings and was asked if I was “okay” with it- by that point I just wanted to go home and eat. So I said yah it’s fine and left. The sandwich—- I give solid 4 stars, minus a star just because I would have liked more sauce on my sandwich but next time I will order ahead of time and extra sauce. There was crunch, a little heat and the bread was so soft yummy! Chicken was excellent quality, I would definitely come back! Oh and the music (while waiting) was on point! ??
Joshua, Alexandria and Akiya (hope I spelled this right) were amazing. They greeted me once I entered and answered questions I had about the menu item. Alexandria and Akiya were able to give me the exact amount time that it would take to complete my order and it was ready at that time. The food was hot, fresh and a great portion for the price! I’ll definitely be back.
WORTH-the-WAIT. Josh, the owner is happy to explain the heat levels to you in depth, and will ensure you that you will be back....which is true... so come hungry. but not starving! ? as there will be a wait; however, ? IS worth it!!I purchased 2 Wingette Dinners, which included 8-piece chicken w/a side and drink for approx $30 bucks. I got one mild which was full of flavor and still a bit of a twang. and one "Hella-Hot" which is ONLY for the brave at heart who can handle it. The chicken was still full of flavor and hot as hell! There's a kiosk to place your, but we ordered at the counter.. there was a stream of to-go orders coming in so obviously folks love the chicken.The dining room was clean with AWESOME music playing. I ordered take-out, but ended up eating as dine-in because it did take a minute for my chicken.. NOTICE the cook times when you place your order which i missed,, so no fault to Josh, it was still worth it!! Maybe y'all should advertise as "cook-to-order" ?.Parking: Great parking nice shopping center. UPS shipping in the same shopping center. Wheelchair accessibility: Huge dining area!
Decent tenders tossed in hot sauce. The sauce is nice and hot, it brought the appropriate amount of sweat with good flavor. The fries were good. Be warned it may take 10-15 minutes once you order.
Came here with coworkers during lunch on a Thursday afternoon. We were the only group dining in, but watched several people come in for their to-go orders. Ordered the catfish, chicken tenders, and wings. The food compares to most of the "hot chicken" places in Nashville. The lady taking our order was very nice and helpful when we had questions with the menu.
I LOVE Helen's Hot Chicken in Smyrna!I think the catfish is fantastic!My wife loves the wings!!I enjoy going in and having it delivered!The place is ran by great people too! Everyone is always helpful, upbeat and knows what they are doing.If you are reading this and wondering if you should try it, the answer is yes.
I want to say I think Helen’s has the best food and I absolutely love the hot fish ! It is wonderful place to come and dine or get a take out order to go. I love the hot fish but I am sure the other items on the menu are equally as good ! I want to thank “Josh the owner of Helen’s in Smyrna” for his excellent customer service! Keep up the good work Josh I am so proud of you !!!
The restaurant was clean and the food is delicious. I don't even like okra and their Fried Okra was delicious. I order the Whiting Fish Sandwich Combo with Fries, Hot Sauce and Mustard. The best Southern food I've had in Tennessee.

The food was great! The atmosphere had a nice vibe. But the service was TERRIBLE! The girl at the counter did not want you to be there - she said it without saying it... Anyway. Great chicken, but probably won't return because there was no kindness here.
