Was so excited to try this place. There were tons of employees just standing around while the tables were all dirty. We had to clean a table to sit down. The burgers were ok, but cookout is better. Hopefully with all the employees they can at least get that end together and we can try again.
Dining room is filthy and the employees are rude.
My beautiful and sweet awesome and loving wife Cynthia Pearson Upchurch and my mom and I are enjoying Freddy's SteakBurger restaurant for the first time here in Smyrna TN & it's really good and the price is very reasonable just look at our food & the receipt $23.34 for all three of us. 4/5/22
Every time I visit this place my order is totally botched. The food is good, but the young people working here do not listen well. The first time I ordered the Hawaiian Sundae, add pecans and caramel>no peanuts because I hate them and I'm allergic. I got my Sundae, it did have the added pecans and caramel, but it also had peanuts in it. I told the young lady at the window, she goes back to bring the young man who prepared it, and he is adamant that I have macadamia nuts. Partially convinced and not wanting to argue, I drove home. When I opened my Sundae and asked my husband to sample the nut, he confirmed what my eyes had already known...they were peanuts. I called the restaurant, and the manager promised to mail coupons. I never got them. But that's not all. On my most recent visit, I ordered a quart of Vanilla Custard. The young lady repeated my order back to me and said Chocolate Custard. I repeated myself again, "No. I don't eat chocolate custard or ice cream. I want Vanilla." She said, "yes ma'am. Drive around." I got my order, checked my meal for accuracy, and drove home. Not knowing the one thing I should've checked I didn't. The next day, I had a taste for some fozen vanilla custard. I reach into the freezer to get it, and it's chocolate! ?I couldn't get anyone on the phone to make my complaint; so I am lodging it on this forum.-SignedVery Disappointed ☹️
Greeted by manager, of all people, immediately upon walking in...something I havent experienced at a "normal" restaurant so big kudos on that and the overall friendliness of the staff. Outdoor seating was abundant and the inside was nice and true to the Freddy's look and layout although smaller than others I have been to.. Chicken tenders crispy but incredibly juicy and hot fresh out of the fryer. Fries were well cooked for the most part. Fries weren't as fresh (hot) in my opinion but majority of the meal was delicious. Still chowed down on the fries since they weren't like frozen cold. Could've just been the fact I had so many on my tray. That and the other major pitfall leading to four stars instead of five was the extra charge for a "large dine-in" on top of an already boosted price for the large combo. Plentiful portions but I don't really understand the price of 10 bucks for a large five strip combo and no custard or dessert included. I will be returning in the future so no big deal about the fries and 30 cents extra for dining in.
The food was amazing, the environment was clean, staff were very friendly. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend the PBC+B concrete. It was a perfect ending to a great meal.
The burgers are phenomenal but I'm still not a huge fan of shoestring fries - the flavor is good but I'd prefer a more substantial potato. The desserts are also pretty good. The custard is good but the concrete shakes need a bit more blending. All in all, I will be going back. That patty melt was delicious. Crispy edges on burger patties should be the standard everywhere.
?After asking, they said “the California Burger is the choice if you want tomato and lettuce on your burger.” So that’s what I ordered. They didn’t tell me they were out of tomatoes or they just messed up my order. Either way they did not have tomatoes on them and I ordered two California Burgers. The second thing about all these smashed burgers out there is they are mostly burning up the edges on these burgers. The burgers we ordered here were the most blackened edged and bitter burgers that I have ever had. They were also cold and dry to boot. The generous portion of shoestring fries on the combo were cold but tasted great. Sodas were fine. The hot dogs are another story. Even though the dogs weren’t really hot they were delicious. Warm toasted bun, Vienna hot dog, raw onion, warm chili, cheese and mustard. The Friendly’s has the best hot dog of any chain restaurant, just not here.?Update* 2022 (Where are the onions, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles? Lukewarm, chewy, under cooked chili dogs without the onions that’s supposed to be on them. A “double patty mustard only burger!” instead of a California Burger that is supposed to have “lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles.” Two visits here and I have yet to see a tomato! At least the burger was warm and not burned this time. The fries were lukewarm even with a line of cars.
Loved it! Food was awesome and you get a good portion. I’m a hefty dude and I couldn’t finish! I saw some compliant on salty food and I can see how someone might feel like that. I loved it but I’m sure if you asked for no seasoning they would be glad to do so. Staff was really friendly and fast. Food came out in about 4 minutes. $15.45 for a patty melt, medium fry and drink plus turtle sundae. That is NOT expensive especially for the quality and service. New favorite!
After reading these reviews, I will admit I was quite skeptical. However, a red headed friend of mine convinced me to go and it was all around good food. Good greasy burger, good flavor with the fries and impressive custard. Seems like you guys have stepped your game up, good job
