There are hardly words! The team at the Appalachian makes every moment when you enter the door a flawless unforgettable event! Me and my husband went for our anniversary and our menus were personalized for us! The calm, collective tone of the place made us feel so welcome and completely comfortable! The wait staff was amazing and very accommodating! Watching the kitchen from our table was mesmerizing! The chef and his crew truly put their hearts into your meal and it’s a beautiful thing to behold as they pay attention to every detail and very much enjoy their jobs!! Attention to detail… WOW! Me and my husband had the fried chicken skins, the Buffalo frog legs, Elk loin and the Duck as well as the goat cheese cheesecake and the strawberry shortcake ?? There arent enough adjectives to use to describe the food! We had to take some home which the waitress graciously packed up for us! The Berry Rita…….. HANDS DOWN the best margarita I’ve ever drank! If you want a one of a kind experience, give them a visit! Fresh, delicious food made with a true passion for the art! ????????

We’re from Cincinnati and I let my husband pick where to eat. Walking in I had no idea it was more of fine dining so I felt underdressed. We didn’t have a reservation so we sat at the bar and had our dinner. First the place is beautiful and all the staff we talked to were so nice. We didn’t have any whiskey or bourbon but they have plenty to choose from. For an appetizer we had the pork belly which was delicious. I chose the filet and he had the duck breast for dinner. It was all delicious. We didn’t have dessert which I now regret. If your in town and looking for a more upscale place to eat this is it. We will be back on our next trip down.

A real cuisine restaurant! Fantastic clean food. Awesome presentation and great service!

My family and I had a WONDERFUL experience at The Appalachian! Service, drinks, and food were all on point! My husband had and old-fashioned, and I had a yummy cocktail that featured gin, limoncello, Champagne, and lavender simple syrup (can’t remember the name). As a sommelier, I appreciate that The Appalachian allows guests to bring their own bottle of wine for only a $20 corkage fee, so my husband and I were able to enjoy a special bottle of wine from our collection. In Palm Beach, FL, where I work, the fee would be double that! For food, we started with a cheese board and the Buffalo Frog Legs. Even my picky, 10-year-old son loved the frog legs (full disclosure we did initially tell him they were chicken wings, but told him the truth later)! For entrees, I ordered the duck breast, which was cooked and seasoned perfectly. While there is no separate kids’ menu, my son was able to order a child-sized portion of the hangar steak with French fries (the usual mushrooms, Swiss chard or gravy nowhere to be seen). Again, perfectly cooked and seasoned, and he ate the majority of it (which is a small miracle for him). He also devoured some slices of the hot, buttered cornbread that came out with our meals. I was also fond of this, as it The showstopper, though, was the 48oz Tomahawk Ribeye that my husband and daughter shared. OMG! It was truly a thing of beauty! One of the chefs came out not even two bites in to ensure that such a thick steak had been cooked to perfection over the wood-fired grill, which it had been. Even though sides weren’t really needed with a steak that size, my husband and daughter ordered the potato cakes, grilled broccolini, and mushrooms. I tried a bit of all of them, and they were all perfect! The leftovers will definitely be enjoyed tomorrow! We really wanted to try dessert, but had already promised our son a return to the Alpine Mountain Coaster for a night ride, so we declined. Shortly after our check had been delivered, however, one chef came out to thank us for dining, and another came out to deliver some homemade chocolate pudding for us to take home. We felt more like family, than guests. Our server, Ann, and her trainee, Molly (a valued, and much-appreciated 10-year-veteran, fourth-grade teacher during the school year) on her very first night, were warm, knowledgeable, and eager to make our dining experience perfect. I also have to mention how refreshing it was to observe the chefs genuinely having fun in the open kitchen. One was often seen smiling, laughing, and even dancing. Even my children noticed, saying, “They really seem to love their job!” I only wish that we didn’t live so far away, so we could dine at the Appalachian again. Should we ever return to the area on another trip, you can guarantee that we will dine with them again, not to mention their soon-to-be sister restaurant, Trotter’s Whole Hog BBQ.

This place was amazing! My husband and I went for our anniversary. The service was outstanding. Our waiter Matt gave wonderful recommendations and was very attentive. We ate the fried chicken skins which were delicious and not what I was expecting. We had the shrimp and grits and a steak. All were well prepared and seasoned. We really enjoyed. We will definitely be back! Thanks for making our day special.

Visiting from VA, we chose to give this restaurant a chance and we were not disappointed! Everything is local and it tastes just as legit. Powerfully distinct flavors ?Pork belly, then cornbread, hanger steak and blueberry goat cheese cheesecake. We will come again when return to Sevierville

My boyfriend and I wanted a great steak and he decided to google and this popped up… omgoodness!!! So glad it did!! It was sooo amazing! I had the Filet mignon and it was the best steak I’ve ever had in my life! I also had the wildflower drink (suggested by the beautiful and sweet Elena) and the goat cheese cheesecake OMGGGGG ?. Elena was our waitress and she was amazing! You can tell she is passionate about food and loves working here! She bragged about everything being local and you can tell she knows her stuff! We enjoyed every minute of our experience! The manager came over and asked how everything was as well! Very very impressed!! Cant stop gushing over it! Top notch! We will be back! 5 STARS!

Wonderful gourmet restaurant, locally owned. If you are visiting Pigeon Forge, I highly recommend this restaurant. The food was delicious and the service excellent!

This was one of our top 5 dining experiences. The food alone was outstanding, but the experience was enhanced by the lovely team who made us feel like we were the only ones in the dining room. Anne was warm, attentive, provided solid suggestions and her easy laugh made us feel at ease. Sous chef Derick surprised us with a delectable amuse bouche (unforgettable, the way) which made the experience feel so much more personal. Co-owner Steve came out to check on us, too, and it was nice to see him chatting with the other diners and even running corn bread to tables. Folks here care and it comes through in every bite and every moment. Already looking forward to going back!

We dined here with some friends and their 2 children for dinner. I was blown away by their quality of food. We are city folk and consider ourselves "foodies" (annoying I know). We wanted a break from all of the burgers and pub fare we had in the Smokys so we tried The Appalachian. From the ambiance to the specialty drinks and food it was AMAZING. Their bourbon selection was the best I have seen in. The smokys. Their steak tartare was one of the best we have ever had. I have had steaks all over the US and this could be the best filet I have ever had. Something about the wood burning oven they use puts a unique char on their food. Nobody in our group was disappointed. They accommodated the kids with a high chair and a grilled cheese with a custom menu. This restaurant is true farm to table and they alter their menu for the seasons. We will be back! It is in such a cute part of town as well.
