We come out to Tennessee every year to visit my wife’s Dad, who lives in Sevierville. We live in Southern California and love Mexican food. We saw a YouTube video that featured Tamale Express and had to give them a try. Their place is very clean and the food was amazing. The Birria tacos were better than any we’ve had anywhere in So Cal. Might just have to give them another visit tomorrow. Thanks!

I've been dying to try this place!! I was determined on this trip I was going to & man ol man they did not disappoint!!!! Hands down the best birria tacos I've ever had!!!! Nice friendly staff!!!! Thanks again ❤️

The food is hot, fresh, and beyond tasty. If you're looking for something different for taco Tuesday this is your place.

Fantastic drinks and food. Will definitely be back again!

A very clean, well decorated restaurant. The food is delicious and you get a lot for your money.

We knew we were making a trip to the area and I happened to see this spot on Google. My wife and I love Hispanic foods and this place didn't disappoint. The next time we are in the area we will for sure eat here again.

My girlfriend and I visited here on New Year’s Eve. They were closing early that night at 8 PM, and even though it was a half hour away, we decided to order our food to go in order to not risk holding up the staff when they closed. We both ordered ordered tacos and esquite (street corn). Since they had no vegetarian option, my girlfriend basically ordered just some toppings on tortillas, but they still charged her full price. The esquite was $3.99 on the menu, but the cashier rang it up at $4.99 without saying a word. She also charged us for getting our food to go and for using debit cards; again, neither line item was mentioned to us or even posted on a sign in the room, it just appeared on the bill. For one order each of tacos and street corn multiplied by two people - no drinks! - it cost over $40. After we got in the car, we realized that we hadn’t even seen tamales on the menu, despite the name of the restaurant. Apparently, you have to ask about them, because I guess actually listing them makes too much sense. To top it all off, the street corn was decent, but the tacos were mediocre at best. It’s been almost three months, and this place still stands out in my memory as a disappointment.

The food was really good, disappointed they were out of the torta bun early in the day. Really expensive for two people. Wouldve been $10 bucks cheaper wouldve been a lot better. Also charged me for card fee whenever i paid cash. But overall nice little place and food.

the Birria tacos were nothing like the picture! Nothing but the meat and the tortillas were barely even red and tore easily! Taco Bell tacos look better and that's bad!! never again...$100 does the drain

Highly recommend!!! Great atmosphere, delicious food & drinks, decent prices, quick service! Can’t wait to go back!
