Great foods! But notice customer service is going down hill. Some people are not nice and putting their hands on others’children (Warning - wrong thing to do!! Next time., I will call the cops!!)and their ways of talking to others too. A lot of people forgot the Golden Rule stating: “Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You”. God wants us to United not division. Smile and be happy and love.
It is a beautiful place to eat, there is a great selection of soups, salads, desserts, and breads, and it is all fresh. I highly recommend the chili and the snow crab soup, and also the chicken salad. I only wish I lived closer so that we could eat there much more often.
Amazing. After 8 years of working in Oak Ridge I finally decided to try The Soup Kitchen and all I can say is wow. I got in just before the lunch rush and got the tomato soup and 3 cheese grilled sandwich. Firstly, that tomato soup is more of a stew it is so thick and simply amazing but that grilled cheese was next level, even plain. I will certainly not wait 8 years to return.
My wish would be that the menu would be updated consistently every day on Facebook. That way I wouldn’t have to call and interrupt someone working to find out what the soups are for that day. Just a thought. I love eating at the soup kitchen!
Was brought there and it was a surprise. It was Thursday turkey day. Food was excellent. Thank you for Thursday.
This is a true Tennessee gem. Soup Kitchen is out favorite place to eat at in Tennessee PERIOD!
Faster than fast food, and better. Very cozy atmosphere inside, tons of OR and Manhattan Project memorabilia on the walls. Hadn't been to a Soup Kitchen since there was one in downtown Knoxville and was pleased to see that things hadn't changed at all.
I got 3 half bowls of chili, 3 half bowls of chicken noodle soup, 1 half bowl of crab soup, along with brown bread and cheese bread. Everything was talky good but that crab soup was DELICIOUS!! I only got 1 half bowl of the crab soup and I am still regretting that choice! I could easily have eaten a full bowl plus "leftover" bowls the next day. I was afraid my tongue was going to beat me to death trying to kick the half bowl clean! This is a 4 star review only because the only size container they had for to-go soup was the half bowl size. I understand running out of the regular size to-go bowls but some other option needs to be in place for carry out. Perhaps offering pint sized and quart sized bowls could be implemented for people carrying food home to share with family or friends?
Great stop for lunch Staff was friendly and helpful. Had the chilli on a cold day. Hit the spot. My grandson tried some and I almost lost the rest to him Pop are you going to finish that. Well ya I like it.
Great place to eat! Great selection and service.
