I've enjoyed this place until my experience today. I ordered an unsweet tea and the server stated, "try this, I'm not sure which one I got it from" I couldn't truly tell from the first sip so I took another one and the server raised her voice and said, "so is it sweet or unsweet?!" I answered, "I guess unsweet" because her demeanor was shocking. She came back after a long while and asked if my husband and I were ready but quickly replied with a probably not and I looked at my husband and asked if he was ready and we proceeded to order. She made a rude remark to another younger server about how the tea area was a bad setup because only one person could fit through. Mind you, that server was blessed and replied with something I couldn't hear but judging by her body language, she didn't take kindly to the comment. While I ordered, I wondered of there was another option besides fries and she said, "have you even been here before?" I replied that we'd eaten there many times and that I just wondered if salad would be an option even if there was an upcharge. Not to mention, we were sitting near the tea station and I was looking at all the plates coming out of the kitchen and one time I caught sight of the labelings on the tea barrels. My vision isn't the best BUT the labels were easily read. It was a very different experience today unfortunately.
Breakfast was good. Biscuits and gravy were very delicious! Everyone was so very nice! Coffee was tasty.
If for no other reason, visit this place as the first diner in Oak Ridge (1945). The food is actually quite good. Service can be hit-and-miss, but it's never awful. Just a nice, friendly restaurant.
Great burgers and seasoned fries! Service was quick, friendly and accurate. We will be back!
Friendly local place to get breakfast before exploring Oak Ridge and the surrounding area. The wait was a bit long, understandably due to staffing challenges, but they kept the coffee coming while we waited and we weren't in a hurry.
First time visit Friday for lunch .... Magnìfico!!! Five stars and five thumbs up. Their Fat-Man burger is the best I've ever had. Better than 5 Guys, better than a Dave's Triple at Wendy's (and those are good burgers). It's perfect. And so are their fries. Every bit as good.Coffee was freshly made. In all a wonderful lunch.Good ambiance. Very relaxing setting.I'm a fan. Great place.
The food was fantastic and the staff were above and beyond sweet and helpful. Definitely a family friendly atmosphere and a great time.
Nice people, great food, reasonable price
I’m giving this 5 stars for the friendliness! The food is good, not huge helpings, and the atmosphere was charming. We were just driving through but they treated us almost like family.
My first visit. Excellent food and great service. The sausage gravy was delicious. Highly recommended!
