Food was pretty good, but I've had better at other Freddy's locations. Prices seem higher at this location too.
We stopped in for ice cream. The whole inside floors and tables were absolutely nasty! Nothing had been cleaned or touched on who knows when. None of the kids working spoke when people came in to order. It was really sad how this place looked and felt. We love eating here but not sure we will go back for a while.
Extremely long drive-thru line. Four cars in front of us and waited about 25 minutes in the car line. Waited even longer at the window The fries were regretfully cold by the time we got our order. The burgers we ordered were okay and the tenders were tasty. The dirt cup custards for our kids were a hit. My husband was very unimpressed and called it a generic version of Stake N'Shake just with better ice cream. Mutually decided that if we go back we'll only go for the custard ice cream and go inside. This is probably our 3rd or 4th time ordering from this location, and each time at different points in the day. The wait is always 20+ minutes in the drive-thru, and for us it's just not worth that amount of wait time. I will say though, the employees were fantastic, and for that I will give 4 stars. They were very friendly and funny. The food and wait is closer to a 2 out of 5.
I really wanted to love this place. The reviews seemed decent and the restaurant has a lot of character but the presentation of the desserts vs what’s advertised is FAR OFF.This is a pic of my sundae about 2 mins after I received it.I was severely underwhelmed with what was handed to me. I visited on a Saturday at 8pm, the drive thru was nearly wrapped around the building. That might’ve had something to do with the outcome of my sundae and concrete. But it was unpleasant enough for me not to want to return to another Freddy’s.The kitchen and dessert station were a complete wrecked and most of the staff seemed very overwhelmed and in a frenzy making the orders. The food at least looks half decent. Hopefully it tastes good! lol
Food was fine but I had an "issue" with payment. After placing my order, the credit card machine lit up waiting for a card (like they all do) and it showed the tap to pay logo. I had my phone ready and as I was tapping my phone, the cashier said that Apple pay doesn't work. I laughed and said "are you sure about that because it just did" thinking that she was either joking or misinformed about technical problems that may have previously been fixed. She repeated that Apple pay doesn't work on their systems. By that time, just a few seconds after paying, I had an alert on my phone from my bank that my card had been charged, and even their register saw the card payment and completed the sale and printed the receipt, so clearly it was working fine. Instead of handing me the receipt and telling me the order number, the cashier said nothing else, took the receipt, and disappeared to the back of the restaurant for a few minutes and left me standing there wondering if she was coming back with my receipt and to tell me what my order number was so I could get the food I just paid for. It was so awkward that the cashier at the other register noticed something was wrong and asked if she could help. I explained what happened but there wasn't anything she could do.The cashier returned after a couple minutes and handed me the receipt and said they'd allow the payment "this time" but not to use Apple pay (tap to pay) in the future. When I asked what the problem was, she either didn't understand it herself or was trying not to say too much but she said enough that I figured out that management didn't want people to use cards because of the service charge they have to pay for each transaction. So basically management had instructed her to say the card machine was broken so they could trick customers into paying cash to save the typical 1.5 to 3% bank fee on credit card transactions (Not sure what their exact bank rate is for processing cards). This seems dishonest to me, so I'll gladly honor their management's request not to pay by card and won't pay them anything in the future. Instead, I'll go to other places that don't feel the need to lie to their customers just to save a few pennies. This has to be one of the weirdest experiences I've had at a fast(ish) food place. Normally you expect occasional issues with the service or food not up to standards but this is the first time in my multiple decades of eating that I've ever had someone tell me not to use a card for payment because management wants to save money.
Each time we have came to this location the service is great and the employees are so friendly and willing to help. Our order is always correct and they always are happy to remind me of what concrete means with the custard.
Good burger. Similar to a In n Out burger. Fries are very small cut like shoe string potatoes. Not easy to eat and dip in condiment. Custard shake and sundae were really good.Staff need to clean up after customers quicker. Family left with mess on the table and floor. Still not cleaned after 15 minutes before we left.
We visited Freddy's in Oak Ridge TN. The burgers are fantastic with thin patties that are cooked fresh after the food is ordered. The frozen treats are really good and the shoestring fries are cooked just right. You should check out Freddy's . You will not be disappointed.
First visit, great service and good food. Burgers tasty and well dressed, fries are VERY slim with generous portion, crisp but not very chewy. Very little potato flavor, mostly a texture treat. Did try one custard shake, very good flavor, small cup but adequate for this visit. Fried foods appeared to be overcooked, (onion rings & chicken tenders!) but just very dark, not over cooked, upon tasting were fine. Freddy's was clean and well staffed during this visit at dinner time.
Staff very cheerful and friendly. Remembered the order. I was a little picky. The place was clean well staffed. Our only complaint was that the skinny French fries were just too cold to eat in a very short period. Bur%rs were greatTry the patty melt! Custard is always yummy.
