I'm not sure how I have missed hearing about this place, but now that I have found it , I am so glad. This is hand's down one of the best places that I have eaten. The turkey dinner is my favorite. The broccoli casserole is divine. I've already been twice since I discovered this gem, and I can't wait to go back and try more items. The staff was also very pleasant, and unlike most places these days it appeared to be fully staffed. It was a great overall environment.
We have enjoyed eating at Dean's. They always have a variety of dishes available for all tastes. We love the catfish, the mac and cheese, and banana pudding!! Very appreciative that they have a number of gluten-free items on their menu (a whole separate page). I wish they had sweet tea that was not made with orange juice (my only complaint)!
This is a great restaurant: Southern comfort food at its best.Spacious, elegant, attentive, delicious. Their meatloaf w/ sides was ?. (If you are of my generation, this now means GREAT! ?)Food is?Ambience and locale are?Service is ?A holiday meal any day of the week!I give it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐&?????This is another gem here in beautiful Jackson Square (& Fountain), the heart of this city.
I've been trying to find restaurants worth eating at in oak ridge for years. I've worked here on and off and always have tried to find a place that has decent food. Lo and behold, Here is the place. Finally, after all these years is a place that I wouldn't mind eating on a regular basis. The service was super nice and friendly. The atmosphere was clean and updated and 2022. The desserts were off the charts. But the most important thing is that the food was good. Hot as can be. Literally the hottest plate of food I've ever had. Which is amazing. The french fries blew my mind, but the sweet potato casserole with the marshmallows made me think of Christmas. It's like what cracker barrel wishes it was and even better. Everything about my experience was fantastic and I can't wait to come back and try some more of the goodies, especially the gluten-free chocolate pudding they had. They didn't have a lot of gluten-free options, but the chocolate pudding looked amazing. If they could just come up with some gluten-free things on their menu, this would be one of the best restaurants in this area.
First off the service was amazing! Jacob took care of me and did a fantastic job. The food was amazing too. Usually when ordering corn on the cob you have to season it, not this wood fired corn on the cob! I had catfish with corn on the cob and broccoli casserole. I topped it with banana pudding! I will definitely be coming back!
This is one of the hidden gems in East Tennessee for food. I say hidden because it's not on the main thoroughfares in Oak Ridge. However, this place is certainly worth finding. Every item of their down-home Southern cooking is prepared beautifully, with a richness of flavor complimented by a masterful hand at seasoning. The portions are quite generous. The prices are surprisingly low for the quality and quantity of food. Service here was very good, with attentive servers that understand their menu. And their dessert menu is one of the most extensive I've seen in any restaurant, with a wide variety of cakes and pies. This is not a fancy place, but I would be proud to take anyone here for any occasion, as the food is sure to impress and leave people happy.
We will definitely return and tell our friends… everything was fresh and seemed individually prepared! The best desserts ever. From Arkansas but we will be back!
We were visiting friends who live in Oak Ridge and they took us to Dean's for lunch. The food was good and service were good. I had the wood fire grilled chicken and my only complaint was that the chicken breast had that middle gristle and some other fatty chewy stuff left on it (I remove all of that stuff when I cook my own chicken) and found myself spitting out those pieces when no one was looking (I can't stand it in my mouth). I also had the carrots, which were good. Husband had salmon and said it was good, along with the greens. Sister Shuberts Rolls and cornbread were brought to the table and were quickly devoured by the four of us. After lunch we headed into their bakery and I purchased 3 kinds of fried pies, a pecan pie bar, thumb print cookies and a lemon cookie. All were very good. The thumb print cookies have some coconut in them and the pies dough reminded me of the dough that surrounds Hostess pies - though these were much better. Of the three flavors (peach, cherry, and apple) that I bought, apple was my least favorite; the apples were finely diced. The pecan pie bar was great and was probably my favorite. I would go to this restaurant again, but I would try a different entree.
Food was fresh, hot and delicious! Amazing quality.
Very good place to eat, the food is excellent. Woodfire grilled chops and squash, WoW. Meatloaf was also excellent and the BBQ ribs were the best.
