Phenomenal. We went down the line Korean food and EVERYTHING was excellent. Not served with traditional sides, but rice and lettuce are available. Super bummed we forgot to take pictures. Had the ribs, kimchi fries and bulgolgi. Great beer selections and the vibe is exciting. Not a stuffy Asian restaurant. They were out of mango sticky rice, but a great reason to come back.
I love coming here! The bartender is AMAZING with drinks and she's super friendly. The atmosphere is so welcoming and you feel like the staff are family when you leave. Definitely recommend coming here.
I have been here about 5 times. The food is great and shows culinary effort. The service is always good at the bar, which is where I typically sit! If you’re lucky the owner will be behind the bar, and she is a great conversationalist. Great vibes and ambience.
Michelle and Peter have truly created a special restaurant with Umami. The food is impeccable, the staff are so kind, and the atmosphere is top tier. I have never felt more welcome and relaxed in a restaurant! I would drive 2 hours to and from this restaurant if I had to. It’s that good. I will be frequenting Umami from now on, and I am excited to bring all of my friends here! 100/10!
Everything here is absolutely delicious and always consistent. Hands down the best wings I have ever had. You can tell their dishes are made from scratch! Everyone is always so friendly and the owner is a doll! My favorite local spot forever!
Our waitress, Michelle, was uninspired and downright condescending in her delivery and response to questions. The eel was poorly deboned and unpleasant to eat. The menu is too busy to be read on a phone and they do not offer a paper copy even though I explained I have a visual disability making it too challenging to review. A first and last experience for us. Will not recommend.
Umami has the BEST Korean wings in Nashville! They stay crunchy and they're huge! The atmosphere is inviting, the music is good and the drinks are even better. The bartender is quick, personable and fun! Don't question it, just go, enjoy yourself and the delicious wings.
This place is truly a hidden gem. Don't let the fact that it is a fusion restaurant put you off. Nothing is phoned in here. From the sushi to the korean fried chicken, to the ramen, everything I've had here has been delicious. I've been to almost all of the sushi spots in the surrounding area and Umami has the best tasting and highest quality fish.I recommend sitting at the bar! Michelle is an absolute sweetheart and works hard to make everyone feel like a regular. And once you ARE a regular, she'll start making your drink as soon as you walk in the door :)Because of the pandemic they've occasionally had some staffing issues, but be patient, I promise you Umami is worth the wait.
