I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. If I could give it ten stars I would. Not only is the food, atmosphere and service amazing, but they truly go above and beyond for their customers. I have a number of severe food intolerances, including soy, and that can make it hard eating out, especially at restaurants that specialize in Japanese cuisine. Chef & Partner Jess Benefield made me an entire list of items that would be safe for me and included what modifications to tell my server that certain dishes would need. The time she spent to make sure that I could safely enjoy her restaurant means more to me than she will ever know. I'm a customer for life and I highly recommend that you check it out too.
This place was great! I really enjoyed the vibe, food and drink options. Not the best ramen I’ve ever had but still pretty good.
Lived in East Nashville for years and didn't go until tonight. Glad we did. Super impressed. The yakitori, sushi, spicy crab noodles and tonkatsu ramen were all impressive. Service attentive and helpful. Overall, a wonderful meal.
Easily one of the best restaurants I've ever been to across the country. Both the drinks and the food have such an incredible, deep flavor and come out fresh and delicious. The staff is diverse, attentive, and friendly. We had only one night to spend in Nashville and chose this as our one restaurant experience. Zero regrets except I wish we could have tried more things!
we had a brief amount of time in Nashville to experience some tasty food and chose to come here. the staff was friendly, inviting, and so much more diverse than we expected to find in Tennessee. the food was easily some of the best we've ever had. thanks for a great experience!
The food was just ok. I got the tonkotsu ramen, the broth was to fatty and it tasted like they dumped a bunch of cream in there. My father got some chicken one that was pretty good. When they first bring you water it is served cold but then you need to pour it from these like bottles from the table so it wasn't all that good. The spicy edmame was extremely tasty, only a little spicy.
We had a very satisfying first experience. Sushi was very delicious, we tried volcano, which was good spicy and different, crab and always sunny makis. The chicken ramon was super delicious! The only thing I wish we could get a better guide by our waitress was the sake. We ended up choosing cans, which were fine but not very fancy! I should say that the guy at the reception is fantastic, very friendly and welcoming.
Great experience and great food
Just went here for the first time after having been hearing about it for nearly a year. Even with all the hype, I was not disappointed. The ambience is very inviting and offers a healthy mix of chill and lively. The food was amazing. I started with the crispy rice + spicy tuna and then had the Tonkotsu ramen bowl with extra pork. To drink, the furusato fashion was an excellent take on an old fashioned. Highly recommend coming here! Deliciously, Clayton Cohn
Great place atmosphere funky totally East Nashville. Great food ( we had ramen, sushi and appetizers) and surprisingly good unique flavors to their food as well. Definitely a place we will come back to often. Not so geared to handle large parties, (family of 7 with in-laws, which by the way they added tip to Bill and did not mention that, adding tip to large party no problem, but mention it) What they can work on I believe is customer experience from the staff level. Instead of being" this is what we got" versus "how can I serve you" It was obvious but we also mentioned this is our 1st time here here and there wasn't really a warm cordial Reception to that from the hostess to the wait staff. I would expect in a unique restaurant like this that you would get, for newcomers, a "hey welcome" or an explanation of the restaurant the food and the drinks etc. Maybe this is akin to the hard edge style of East Nashville. But obviously whatever they're doing is working given it was packed on Monday night at 6. Did I mention great unique drinks? Awesome...oh make reservations!
