Awesome chill spot with killer drinks. Ambiance is lively yet tranquil. The cocktails are the main reason to come here, however. Their old fashioneds, in particular, are truly top notch. The wait staff is also incredibly friendly, helpful, and on-the-ball. Definitely worth a visit.Happily,Clayton Cohn

Great service! Great drinks! A must do if you are traveling and looking for a chill place to hang out.
This had the best service, food and drinks! If you are in the nashville area you MUST GO HERE! All the servers were so friendly! The vegan pimento cheese and the miso deviled eggs were amazing! The left handed banana was THE BEST cocktail I’ve had in my life. They were very accommodating for my dairy allergy.
Delicious cocktails and appies. Service was great and they gave spot on recommendations for food and bev. Chill atmosphere and not crowded when we arrived a little after 5pm. Will definitely be back!
Dark, Whimsical, and a bit Mysterious The Fox Bar is a incredible experience! Its a cocktail bar with drinks designed for a more adult and refined pallet. The bar consists of one small room which is decorated like a 20's speakeasy that has been left to time. Expect no signage when arriving and the only hint you're in the right place is a fox mural with no text on the side if the building. The bar is located in the back of a strip mall behind a small Italian restaurant. The bartender is a expert at the craft and seemed very engaging with those seated at the bar. We were seated at one of the beautiful plush green velvet booths against the wall and were quickly greeted by our waiter who was a small man with dead eyes. Either a Serial Killer or a robot in human skin. That is not a complaint however as honestly it just added to the vibe! This is truly just a quirky and very fun experience that has some of the best cocktails anywhere! I suggest Elegy #2 or Left Handed Banana but no matter what you get you wont be disappointed!
I wanted to love this more. Nothing was inherently bad - we enjoyed ourselves. But the cocktails left me wanting more - there wasn't anything special about them, and I feel like I could go elsewhere for the same or better experience. I was super disappointed - I asked if I could get a chocolate martini which to be fair, is not on the menu - they said of course.....it just wasn't good. The things we ordered from the menu were all good, but again not exceptional. Staff was great, never felt like we had to wait long to be serviced. If you die hard feel the need to go, enjoy! I wouldnt go above and beyond to recommend this to others.
If you want a night in Nashville that’s fancy but still definitely down to earth, I highly recommend. It is a place to “treat yo self”. Peter was fantastic and offered options for other place!!
On a recent trip to Nashville for my dad’s 60th birthday, I wanted to plan some interesting and more unique experiences, so after reading a lot of great things about The Fox, we booked their Private Cocktail Experience. This was essentially a private visit to the bar when it was otherwise closed, to have a one-on-one experience with the head bartender to learn more about cocktails and spirits and try the truly excellent drinks crafted at The Fox. We really loved it, and would highly recommend both the Private Cocktail Experience and this bar in general. Some members of our group were a little skeptical before we got there, since the Private Cocktail Experience was a bit pricey. It was $475 for five people, which definitely isn’t cheap. In addition, as we made our way to the location in East Nashville, everyone was finding it hard to believe we were going to a great place. The bar is a little bit hard to find, with a pretty inconspicuous door to enter on the back of the building. We wandered around both the building that The Fox is located in and the building next door for several minutes before finding where we needed to be. However, shortly after making our way into the small, speakeasy-style bar, we realized we were in for a treat. When we got there, the head bartender was at the bar with everything ready to go, and she welcomed us in and explained what the afternoon would be. It’s not really a cocktail-making class, since the bartender made everything. We were there to relax, taste, and learn, which I thought was ideal. The main thing I hoped to get out of the experience was a better understanding of the theory behind crafting cocktails and how to make better decisions when ordering cocktails going forward, and this goal was absolutely met. I liked that we started with a discussion on the most basic of cocktail formulas, the sour, and went over the vast number of popular cocktails that are made from this same basic formula. She made us a couple of different sours to try that were both really good, but also totally different from each other. From the first sip, I knew we were in for a great treat that afternoon. After that, we had another set of two different cocktails that were a variation on a theme, and then we finished with each having the chance to pick a cocktail off The Fox menu that we wanted to try. Between the four drinks that we tried at the beginning (each person didn’t get their own of all four cocktails – she made three of each for our group of five to share), and then the extra personal cocktail at the end, it was a good amount of alcohol, so I thought it was well worth the cost. I also really appreciated all of the extra discussions we had about different spirits, their history, and origin, which was information I didn’t know at all before our visit. It really enriched the experience and makes me think about cocktails as having their own rich history in a way that I typically wouldn’t have thought of. I believe the experience was set for an hour, but we ended up being there for more like an hour and a half, and if we hadn’t had a dinner reservation right after that, I could easily have stayed at the bar much longer and just ordered more drinks. They were just all so good and well-made with true artistry. We were just finishing up our experience when the bar opened for the evening at 5:00, and it started filling up very quickly after that. It’s a very small place, and it clearly has a following. Even if I came and saw there was a wait, it would certainly be worth it. It’s an unpretentious speakeasy-style bar with fun fox-related touches that extend all the way to the taxidermy fox on the bar, with amazing cocktails as the backbone of the operation. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Private Cocktail Experience at The Fox, since it was a highlight of our trip to Nashville, but even if you can’t do that or don’t want to spend the money, just come to The Fox for a drink. It’s one of the best cocktail bars I’ve ever been to.
WOW - I’ve been here many times but the servers have become snobby about the QR codes. You’d think paying $15 a drink they would supply you with a regular menu OR at least take the time to walk you through it. Instead they point to the menu and point their nose in the air. Come on. You’re better then that.
