Extremely frustrating experience. There were some misunderstandings during the visit that made the staff member firmly believe we were not suitable for adoption, even though we tried to be sincere and just wanted to try to understand what was best for the kittens. We were willing to follow any rules, but the staff member was rude and made inferences based on a few questions and completely refused to listen to us explaining. For example, we were told that a kitten needed to be with another cat/kitten, so we had to adopt two together, and we just wanted to understand the reasons behind it since adopting two was a big decision. I also asked if it’s a natural thing that kittens scratch people to make sure that it’s not the kittens dislike me, but she immediately said that was a red flag and made her feel uncomfortable. Does she think we’ll declaw our kittens just based on one question?????? I have several scars from our family dog and cat and they are the best tattoos I can get - how could she refuse to listen just because we are not native to the language and unable to express with subtlety and show her a more American mannerism she’s comfortable with???When we tried to explain over the phone later, she just said they had made the decision and hanged up the phone. We were very depressed because we felt that the main reason we were denied the opportunity to adopt was due to xenophobia and implicit bias.
My 9 year old son and I had a wonderful time! There were plenty of cats to pet and love on. We will definitely call ahead next time to make sure we don't come on a day where a lot of people have come to visit. Some of the kitties seemed to be over stimulated, it was a Saturday and they mentioned a lot of people had come through. The workers knew so much about each cat which was wonderful and shows how much they truly care ? ?
A friend and I stumbled upon The Catio and decided to check it out! We went in and were happily greeted, only $6 to play with and love on all these sweet kitties that are up for adoption. The kitties were all so sweet and loved having us, and we enjoyed our visit! The staff were friendly and thoroughly cleaning the whole time we were there! It was a great experience and a great way to help out these cats that need homes ? Here are some pics of some of the sweeties I met.
I only got to spend 30 mins with the 22 cats they had. Bc it was close to closing time. But that 30 mins was worth the horrible nightmare that Nashville is. You can pay by hr(super cheap), have a drink, chill with the kitties & the people that run the place(super friendl). & take one home (if you choose to adopt one. Location of the place was like a little strip mall place back behind Opry mills mall & Gaylord hotel. If your a cat person. I suggest you go. Won't be disappointed.
I love this place!!! The employees are always kind and helpful, and the cats, well...they're perfect! Like all cats are! They've got one really large, open room for playing, in addition to a smaller room that faces the sidewalk so that kitties can people/sky-watch. I visit this cat cafe often, and though I can't adopt at the moment, if I ever did find myself needing to add (yet another) feline companion to my life, there's no doubt whatsoever that I'd go through The Catio. If you know what you're looking for in a cat - whether it's a sweetie pie lap baby or an independent sassy pants - you can find it at The Catio! Head over there, hang out for thirty minutes or an hour, and just watch them all. You'll know which one is for you ☺️ Sharing a picture of Orvil, one of the best cats ever.
LOVED IT! The cats/kittens were so sweet and playful, the staff was very helpful with any questions/info we asked of. Will definitely be back! It was a great experience and a loving environment.

One of my favorite places to visit in town. No better place to destress after an insane week. The staff is so amazing and sweet. Sometimes if you're lucky you'll get to see when a cat finds their forever home.
I Stumbled upon this place while on a healing journey this weekend and it was incredible to allow the cats to chose you. They were friendly and loved attention. The environment was clean and had a lot of options to interact with the cats. The cats themselves were well mannered with adults and children; both of my kids absolutely loved this experience.
I took my 2.5 year old daughter, and we loved the Catio! She delighted in exploring the many cat toys, petting the more social kitties, and looking to see where the other cats were hiding or sleeping. There were many friendly cats and lots of places for the shyer ones to feel safe and secure. I expected this place to really stink (and I wouldn't have held it against them--I mean, there are 20+ cats in one place), but they do a great job keeping it clean and sanitary. Overall, a great outing for a kid who loves cats, but isn't going to get one any time soon : )
