Must have Cajun favorites! Do yourself a favor and come for dinner and have a frozen Painkiller to go along with your Po Boy. I’ve been in a few times and they never disappoint! End your meal with some Bread Pudding for a 10/10 dining experience in East Nash. Keep up the good work, Spicy Boys!
Great I mean great gumbo and meat pie. Slaw was awesome. Bartender 10 of 10 in service and conversation. Same with dude that took your order. Asked/begged for muffaletta. Upcoming special. Looking forward to Saints game at the restaurant. Best Cajun in this city.
Very solid gumbo! Not afraid to add some heat too which I like. The roast beef loaded fries were the perfect hangover food too. Staff were friendly and the space was comfortable. Only complaint was the kitchen must be small or understaffed. Took 45 mins to get our food on a slow day. However, the wait was worth it.
We stumbled upon this place on accident tonight and it was such a treat. We ordered the gumbo, meat pie and shrimp PoBoy - all were absolutely amazing. The frozen drinks were phenomenal too. The bartender was friendly and attentive. We look forward to coming back!
So excited to have this place in our neighborhood. Like New Orleans, they welcome everyone with open arms and lots of drinks and amazing food. The building was renovated very well, the patios are amazing, and the atmosphere is very fun and casual. I loved my shrimp poboy and coleslaw. Can’t wait to come back for a crawfish boil.
An hidden gem, but not hidden at all. We were standing in line at Mas Tacos and happened to glance to the right and noticed “Spicy Boys” my friend began doing what we do best, lookup reviews while she proceeded to tell me it was Cajun and Louisiana themed. I was sold on that seeing as how I love New Orleans and a big LSU fan. So we left Mas Tacos and gave Spicy Boys a try. Let me just say, you won’t regret it.After, talking to the owners we were informed that they hadn’t been operating long. It’s definitely a new establishment and one worth trying. Everything we ate was really good. I wish they would’ve had beignets available, but I will definitely be back to try a few more of their menu items. If you’re looking for a great chill spot with good eats and great company this is THE PLACE for you. Sarah, Justin, Joe, and the guy behind the bar (hate I forgot his name) are phenomenal people. I hope this business continues to prosper!!
The food is great. It’s exactly what I expect out of a po’boy. The sausage was great. The pricing and atmosphere are what knock this down for me.What you see in my photos is the “whole” gulf shrimp sandwich. The shrimp are small, when I read ‘gulf’ shrimp, I generally expect a larger shrimp. This sandwich is $22 with no sides. For that price point I expect it to be brimming with shrimp, or to have some sort of side. The half sandwich is just one of these, and is $13. Again, no sides. The andouille sausage has fantastic flavor, but in my opinion, one sausage is not worth $7. Should be closer to a $5 price point for this small portion. It’s hard for me to justify these prices when across the street I can get a fantastic burger (full size) and tots for $10.My last few photos is the drink menu. Again, fairly high price point for a bar/restaurant that’s not claiming to be high end.I did not take any photos of the interior. It’s an odd mix of a renovated house and a new addition that screams “new nashville”.Overall, I expected a quaint southern Louisiana style place. Instead, I was met with a traditional menu paired with a modern nashville aesthetic and pricing. There just seems like a large disconnect between the food and vibe.To get a half sandwich (no side) and a cocktail from here will set you back over $30, pre-tax.
everything was fresh and full of delicious flavor! if I ever feel homesick for Louisiana I know where to come.
As a cajun, I was a bit skeptical about paying $20 for a Po Boy but this was worth EVERY PENNY. Melaku was my bartender and not only explained how every drink was made, but also the history behind them. Easily one my top 3 Nashville restaurants after one visit.
Do yourself a favor and go. Go straight there. Get one of everything on the menu and get a painkiller!!!! These guys know what they’re doing. I’m so glad to see this dream for the last few years come to fruition. You guys are going to be a success. I hope to see you on a diners drive ins and dives one day!
